This is nuts. When you look at this ride from The Turtle (ha ha), you wonder how much thrill you can get from a coaster that is crammed into so little space. Once youre actually on PR, you know and it is actually quite fun. The drops are very decent and they definitely make the most out of the space. It is a little on the short side, but that doesnt take much away from it. I think its the perfect kind of thrill for an amusement park Kennywoods speed.

This ride is currently sitting at number 2 in my top 10 for one reason....the airtime. Im pretty big on ejector air, and there is plenty of it on the bunny hills on this ride. In fact, I consider the Phantom the first coaster I truly began to appreciate airtime. Before this fateful ride, I shamefully held onto the lapbars on most coasters. This was the first ride that I actually just let myself go The visuals are amazing as well, and the drop down through the Thunderbolt is currently my number 1 drop on any ride. I know Morgan doesnt have the best reputation for its hypercoasters, but Phantoms Revenge is definitely among the exceptions.

This is an awesome coaster that shouldnt be missed. I rode it for the first time last summer, and kept my hands up the entire time. The bunny hops are amazing, and youre sure to get some nice air time. Even though there arent any loops, this ride is scary. The "worst" part is climbing up the lift hill - "clickity clickity", all the way up the huge hill. Then down ya go - be sure to keep your hands up on that first drop! Its insane.

it is a cool ride, not long enough though. but like everyone else said, the air time is great. it just yanks you out of your seat on the bunny hops and slams you back down. very fun feeling. if the lap bars were not there, you would fly right out of your seat. the second hill is amazing, i cant seem to keep my eyes open to watch it though, too high and steep for me to watch lol. But overall this coaster is very fun and a must ride. i miss the Steel Phantom, i miss the loops. but i dont miss the constant headache that the ride gave me, it always felt like i was gonna die when i road it. now its a nice smooth ride.

Da best ride Ive ever ridden period. Fast, fun, & exhilarating cant even desribe this hypercoaster. Rode it 3x last summer at Kennywood for my birthday weekend. A lil bit short for a hypercoaster in track length & height though, but da airtimes pretty much unbeatable for this 82 m.p.h. whirlwind of a coaster. When going to Kennywood, dont even act like you dont see Phantoms Revenge because da 167 ft. lift hill says, "Ride me. Da legendary Phantoms Revenge." You wont be disappointed. Wish I couldve seen da ol Steel Phantom though.

Most coasters lose the ability to scare you after the first ride, which is a shame. One of the rare exceptions was Steel Phantom. I rode Steel Phantom a few days after it opened in 1991, and it kicked my ass and scared me off hypers for the next 10 years. But Steel Phantom was too good for this world, and in its place we have Phantoms revenge. With about 65% of the intensity of its forbear, its still plenty intense. The second drop into the ravine is a relgious experience for the airtime devotee. Unlike the biggest hill on most hypers, you go into this one at speed. Ive had the sensation of freefalling most of the way down and then feeling the seat rise up to meet me on the pullout into the fan turn. The ride back to the station looks deceptively tame. However, the ejector airtime is seismic, right up to the break run. Its all over pretty quickly, but theres not a dull moment to be had. Also of note is the rolling stock, which is the roller coaster equivalent of a Ricardo Montalban era Chrysler Cordova: comfortable, roomy, and luxuriously appointed with rich Corinthian leather and karate chop lap bars. Is Phantoms Revenge an improvement over Steel Phantom? Its certainly more rideable, and the American Back Societys loss is probably Kennywoods gain. But I, for one, never did conquer Steel Phantom, and like every skinny high school kid who ever got shoved into a locker, Ill always regret never having another crack at settling the score.

The second drop through the Thunderbolt is awesome. There is also some great air near the end, including some brutal air time on the double dip. I just wish it was a little longer.

I like this ride, but I liked the old Steel Phantom better. All they did to this ride was take out the loops and fun stuff that made your head bobble all over. Oh, and they lengthened the 2nd drop... big deal... Ive been on wooden coasters that were more thrilling!

This is by far the best ride at Kennywood park. I just rode it a couple weeks ago and it made it easily into my top ten list. The first drop was not as good as expected, but the rest of the ride greatly made up for it. The second drop was the longest drop I have ever been on.It is amazing that the ride can plummet down the ravine and whip around the bend so fast. Even though these parts of the ride were cool, the dips and the airtime near the end was insane! I figured that it would be more intense to sit in the back of the train, I was wrong! You get way more air time in the front. The only problem was the wait. I went the first week that the park was open. I waited 45 minutes each time I rode it. The suprising thing was, they were running 2 trains. Overall though, the Phantoms Revenge was well worth the wait.
