This coaster was fast, fun, rerideable, had a large capacity, and an long duration. I'm glad I got to ride it before it was modified to Phantom's Revenge. I will always remember it it's a very intense coaster.

I loved this ride. The only bad thing about it was its roughness, everything else was almost perfect. I loved this ride and will miss is greatly. Cant wait to ride Phantoms Revenge this weekend!

Im not going to lie, but the inversions on this thing sure did hurt! Im so glad they kept my favorite parts in the first two drops for the Phantoms Revenge which I give a 9. Losing some of that harsh banging and roughness at the bottom of the second drop as well as the batwing inversion which Im sure I would love now that Im tall enough definitely did a World a good for Kennywood anyways. A lot more people can ride and want to ride now and I added two points to PRs score since it really is that much better even though it doesnt deserve a 10, so thats how SPs score fell in the rankings. The jet black color scheme and logo were outstanding and nostalgic, but the new coaster is as close to coaster perfection as possible. Steel Phantom still deserves all the respect it was getting though, but change is good for all the ones who havent ridden yet!

I was lucky enough to ride this coaster on the next to last weekend of its existance. Why a park would choose to tear down a coaster which made every top 10 list that the discovery channel ran i dont know. I have long heard of people claiming it was a very rough coaster, one of the worst theyve been on. All these reports were going through my mind as i was boarding the train and climbing the lift hill. After the ride, i was wondering what people were talking about. This may be because i am 62", and banging my head on the restraints usually isnt a problem. But my neck didnt get bumped around much either. I think that people have just become spoiled by the glassy smooth rides B&M put out. In any case, the coaster climbs the lift hill right out of the station. The 1st drop is a swooping hill, similar to the Great American Scream MAchines 1st drop at 6 flags Great Adventure. At the bottom of the drop, there is a long straight section of track that buzzed by a pathway. From there it climbed up to the top of the second drop. There was actually a little bit of air time as the train crested the top and plummeted into the famous 225 drop through the Thunderbolt. At the bottom the train banked to the left and turned 180 very close to the ground and very fast. From there it climbed up into a vertical loop. This loop was very similar to the 1st loop on the scream machine. After the loop came a boomerang. This was the fastest boomerang id ever gone through. The only one that comes close to the gs felt in this element is the boomerang on Montu at Busch Gardens in Tampa. The next element was a helix that circled the Pitfall ride. then a final single corkscrew brought the train back to the station. Each element f this coaster is intense. The ride had some major positive gs, and a small hint of negative gs at the top of the second hill. To my knowledge, this was the only coaster in the world to have a drop over 200 and have inversions. I deeply miss this coaster, but will be forever gratefull i got to ride it before it was destroyed.

Spectacular!the first drop came with the sound of the train coming off the chain,a sound i had known for many years. On the second drop,I all became real,I was riding it,the fastest, scariest,
longest dropping coaster in the world(at that time it was at least)! The inversions were rough, but fun enought to make up for it.I got headaches sometimes, but always left singing! Why did they take it out, why, why, why????

This was a great ride. Yes, it was rough and I usually had a headache after riding, but it was still fun! The first hyper-looping coaster! Definitely not for everyone, I do miss it!

Rough, but who cares? That second drop makes up for it. Youll think youre going to get hit by the wooden coaster it plunges under. The rest of the ride is filled with tons of inversions. Best ride in the park.

if the middle and end was as good asthe beginning then the coaster would actually be good. but we are rating the whole coaster which means the whole ride must be good, which this is not.
