I think this attraction is brilliant! State of the Art! Amazing Special Effects! One of the most underrated attractions in the park! Something you should not miss!! Love the movie and the Ride! Very exhilarating!

Loved the movie. The "ride" was outstanding when opened. Could they not pay Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton to re-tape their videos that now look 20 years old? Also, the ride is NOT nearly as exciting as it was when it opened by today's standards... Paxton's narration is so damn dramatic, even as you exit you'd think they just blew up a city in front of you. Step it back Bill, it's just rain, fire and a flying cow you can see the strings on.

A good disaster show. The movie was good I suppose back in the 1990&#39.s. My favorite part is the flying emotionless cow. This attraction is sort of a spin off of Earthquake. Well, that is before they got rid of that ride too.

Twisters are arguably one of the most fearsome and awe-inspiring storms that Earth is capable of producing. In fact, they inspired the major motion picture, which in turn inspired this creative and unique attraction. Now is this attraction as fearsome as a twister? Simply put, no, but it is an entertaining special effect extravaganza from start to finish.

I only rode this once during my visit, but I never saw a line for it all day, which isn’t especially surprising due to the attraction’s massive capacity. The experience begins with a long informative video that serves as the pre-show where the movie’s stars (Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt) comment on their filming of Twister and their opinions on the real thing. Eventually everyone is escorted to a replica of the famous drive-in scene from the movie where the forecast predicts a strong chance of a tornado.

My ride took place in the back row, and while I assume the front row would be the best since it would provide an unobstructed view, my view was pretty clear. Most of the weather effects like the lighting, wind, and sound effects were perfectly executed, but the twister itself just didn’t at all appear menacing and it really was quite pathetic in my opinion. The destruction of the tornado was quite impressive, especially the explosions and the film’s iconic flying cow (though a cable is apparently clear during this scene, though it’s a minor complaint). But definitely the highlight of the attraction is the finale just before the tornado disappears, as I won’t give it away, but it was totally unexpected and incredibly thrilling.

While somewhat dated, Twister is well worth experiencing since the special effects are pretty well executed, especially the last and incredibly shocking one. Really the only drawback is the rather uninspiring appearance of the twister, but if Universal ever did a rehab on this attraction to update the twister, this attraction could be truly special. Still, the action-packed and thrilling experience Twister provides makes for one of the better attractions at the park.

This ride was alright. It was somewhat boring and tame, although the finale was pretty cool.

I cant quite remember this ride since i was about 6 years old when i rode it. It was very realistic and scary!!!! Wind is blowing everywhere and I think I remember a gas station blowing up too! At the end i started crying!!! Overall i loved this ride so i give it a 7...just because I cant give a very accurate rating.

The last time I was at USF, Twister was being built and I wanted to ride it so bad!!

I finally got my chance. The second room/preshow was awesome.I loved all the distruction. The clips in the queue were cool too. The actual show was pretty cool as well. Nothing absolutely amazing but I thought they did a great job recreating the scene for everyone.

Well, 2/3rds of this experience is the pre-shows. So you are watching them, which are more or less just a big advertisement for the movie, for the majority of your time in this attraction. The actual show is pretty cool, but doesnt live up to the build up - the twister they create is not very threatening looking at all... its maybe 5 feet in diameter. But some of the other special effects are cool. Its still something youll only want to do once.
