I just rode this ride Sunday. Been on it several times before. This time, I was with 6 friends, most had never been. The overwhelming feedback was UPDATE. It's based on a 1982 movie that many kids have not seen and is showing it's age. The theming is great... but the entire "give your name for a passport" system has to be revamped (you can barely understand ET by today's standards) and most of the ride interior needs refreshing. Heck. the city you fly over was dusty. This needs to be shut down for perhaps 3 months and brought up to 2011 standards.

Twister aside, Universal does base its rides on some great movies. This kid/family dark ride channels E.T., and its sets are impressive - the misty woods of the movie are recreated perfectly. The "bike" seats you ride in are suspended from above, and it moves ok, but could stand an upgrade. (The track your attached to kinda resembles something you'd find at a meat packing plant.) Then things take a really weird turn when you arrive at E.T.'s homeworld. Not that I would ever advocate such things, but I bet if you're high on hallucinogens, this would be the most awesome (or most scary) thing ever. They slow down the loading time by having an attendant type in your name on a swipe-card, so that at ride's end, E.T. bids you a personal farewell. Heck, you may as well tell the attendant your name is Elliot.

This ride is a great family ride. The theming is great from the qeue line that looks like you are in a forest to the ride vehicles, ( you ride on bicycles). The ride itself is also very good. You fly with E.T. to get him to his home planet and are chased by the authorities. Parents with young children should not miss this one. Overall rating 4.75

A very cool ride! Its certainly no thrill ride but it has great scenery and very well themed. ET says your name at the end and thats really cool.

Everybody loves E.T the film and there&#39.s no reason not to love the ride. I love the forest area the best. The pine trees smell like Old Spice but thats a good thing. The only reason I dont give it a 10 is the bikes that dont look like they did in the movie and ETs home planet scene. Other then that its great.

This ride was alright. It was not very intense, but the scenery and theming was col as well as the bikes.

Nice little ride. It has great scenery and is enjoyable and relaxing. It is sort of a poser of Peter Pans flight though. I think its cool when E.T. says your name.

I think this is a fantastic ride for both children and adults alike! The queue inside is amazing and for me is just as interesting as the actual ride. The detail that went into both the inside queue and the ride are both spectacular and a must see! I dont see how anyone cannot appreciate the beauty of this ride.

What a theming marvel this ride is. If you dont think it is cool when you fly over the city on your bike then you have no appreciation for a theme park masterpiece. The characters in the scenes are neat especially on ETs home planet. Im in my late 20s and this ride took me back to the first time I saw ET.
