Every time I visit Universal studios I go to this ride, it does not offer big thrills but it is neat to watch. The queue line is one of the coolest parts. If you go to universal I would suggest getting a express pass for Mummy and then get in line for twister.

I wasnt too impressed by this, and the 5 rating is a bit of a gift. You walk into a room, have wind blown in your face, and look at a very skinny and wimpy tornado. The self distructing set was pretty cool though, and the flying cow was a nice touch.

OK, let me start again by saying that I was looking for a ride better than Earthquake when I went on. To me, they were in the same boat as far as shows that are created to depict scientific phenomena. The legendary Earthquake has lost a step or two over time, and has lost its glory to the newer rides such as MIB and Mummy. Twister, which opened years later, should have been a great improvement, however, it wasnt. Once again, similar effects were created with fire and water. Twister added wind which isnt terribly difficult, and a flying cow strait out of the movie. Nothing overly impressive or show stopping as far as I was concerned. The set-up was nice with the movie props (such as the Dorothy machine) were nice in the queue, and the pre-show with Helen Hunt and that guy (whos name I cannot remember) was pretty good. The set is much like Earthquake except you walk in rather than "shuttle up a tunnel" in. However, the magnitude of the water flow and the fire effects were certainly better with Earthquake, which definately didnt help Twister. Overall, a decent simulation of a tornado, I know they cant really put you through the wild conditions, but still nice. The thing that is going to get this baby a 5 is that I came in expecting a show better than Earthquake and was left with nothing but messy hair.

An Incridible attraction and is one of Universals best effects. One thing I dont understand is why its in the New york section of the park.New York would be the last place you would ever find a tornadoe but anyways its an awesome special effect show.Letting you experence what the actors experenced from the movie. The quee line shows shows stuff from the movie like a van with a tornadoe on it with a bunch of equipment inside and a sighn that says Wakita pop 585.After the quee line yor in this big room facing a movie screen. They start off by showing the scene from the movie where the family has to evacuate there hom and seek shelter and the dogs outside and the guy is trying to hold on to the door. The door gets ripped off and he flys away. Then the actors Bill Paxton and Helen hunt talk to you about tornadoes and the movie and show scens and stuff like that. The movie turns off and the doors open and you wait in another quee line for a few minuntes.the quee line is inside of aunt megs house(or what is left of it anyway)there are more TV screens above you and the actors talk to you one last time.then you go in the room where you experence the tornadoe which is nicely themeed with a Drive in showing movies from the horror film Psyco. All of a sudden rain starts pouring down and lightning cracks a tree open. Then you are faced with a 4 story tornadoe. This is the part when the special eefects start kicking in.A truck backs up an knocks over a fire hydron causing it to shoot out water. The gas stank blows up sending flames in front of you.A cheesey plastic cow flys by you and the floor drops a few inches.there are alot more special effects to in this demestration. After about two minuntes everything just stops and you here a voice that says you have survive Twister. You are then let into the aftermath gift shop where you can buy T shirts and stuffed animal cows.Twister is a 10 attraction and is not to be missed. You can only find it at Universal Studious Florida.

Pretty good effects, and a good representation of the movie. I dont know if I would wait for this attraction again though. Ok, so I would... neat ride, though I think, given the movie, it had potential to be better.

This ride wasnt exactly what I expected, but it was still fun. Its like a lesser version of Podeidons Fury. The wind is pretty intense and the small drop at the end is surprising. Not Universals best, but it was still a lot of fun.

Pretty awesome. I loved how they had the drive-in in the back and the flying cow. However , If I made this ride, show, or whatever it is, I would have made it to where you ride a car through the twister. Now THAT would be awesome!

of all the SFX rides at Universal I enjoyed this one the most. I think it really displayed the power of a tornado. Mother Nature can be a scary thing. Somehow, I got wet on this ride. I was standing on the right hand side and when it started raining it was like through a whole bucket of water on the back of my legs.

I saw this attraction twice and liked it better the second time when I stood in the front row. Later that day I experienced real-life Hurricane Charley and it was so much like this ride it was errie. I then appreciated how well Universal had done in simulating a real storm.
