Very fun, but it is too short
A classic woodie which is the best ride in the park
Not an awful woodie, but not a great one either. It was exciting but not enough, there was airtime but not enough, everything was there, but just not enough of it. OK, but not wonderful.
Awesome woodie! This is a must ride for all Canobiegoers! Its the perfect example of what a wooden rollercoaster can do.
Now classic woodies are definitely a treat to come across at amusement parks, and the Yankee Cannonball certainly has survived through the test of time, kind of. From the parking lot, the ride looked to be in incredible shape and the park does a great job maintaining it. Once I purchased my ticket, I stormed to the other side of the park to ride this classic. Sadly, the park doesnt let you wait for a seat, so I got stuck with a seat somewhere in the middle. After I had so much anticipation going up the lift, it was pretty much shattered after the ride began. It was perfectly smooth like many others have said, but the air was pretty much non-existant. There were a few pops on some hills, but not the hearty air I had expected. Also, the ride just seemed to go along the track very slow to me. I know the rides small, but it just seemed to go even more slowly than most coasters of this height. My following rides gave much of the same experience. Hopefully I just caught this woodie on a bad day, but the ride I got was not a stand-out to say the least.
My main reason for trekking up here while in Boston and it didnt disappoint. Despite only standing a little over 60ft tall, this ride packs some good air throughout the course and was extremely smooth as well. Lines only allowed me to get one ride though.
Fun. Lines are long though, but the ride is great. The first drop is really thrilling because of the good air in the back and all of the following hills give really good air as well.
Great classic coaster that was my favorite ride at Canobie. The lines were pretty long because of the one train operation, but its worth the wait. The entire ride is glass-smooth and there was good air time throughout, but the ride overall just wasnt that intense.
This is an amazing classic wooden coaster. From the parking lot you can see the Yankee Cannonballs dog-leg shaped layout. The station looks cool with the water fountain and all. I have been on the Yankee Cannonball multiple times and can say that it usually has a fairly long wait. Ive waited around 50 minutes for all of my rides. Thats because theres only one darn train. If it seated 24 that would be fine, but it only seats 18 and really hurts the capacity. Well, at least the operators load quickly. My favorite seat is by far the front (Im a front seat person). The Yankee Cannonball is just pure fun and still provides a great ride. This was a perfect sized coaster for me and the hills were fun. There was some decent air-time on each of the hills. Most importantly for me, the Yankee Cannonball was very smooth, especially considering its age. I do have to subtract a point from the rating due to the line and capacity.
The Yankee Cannonball is by far one of the best roller coasters Ive ever ridden. Despite being less than 70 feet high, Cannonball packs a major punch with its smoothness (which is amazing considering its 77 years old) and its insane amount of airtime! I was seriously lifted out of my seat at least THREE times! This is a must ride if you are ever going to Canobie, you wont regret it.
