Now classic woodies are definitely a treat to come across at amusement parks, and the Yankee Cannonball certainly has survived through the test of time, kind of. From the parking lot, the ride looked to be in incredible shape and the park does a great job maintaining it. Once I purchased my ticket, I stormed to the other side of the park to ride this classic. Sadly, the park doesnt let you wait for a seat, so I got stuck with a seat somewhere in the middle. After I had so much anticipation going up the lift, it was pretty much shattered after the ride began. It was perfectly smooth like many others have said, but the air was pretty much non-existant. There were a few pops on some hills, but not the hearty air I had expected. Also, the ride just seemed to go along the track very slow to me. I know the rides small, but it just seemed to go even more slowly than most coasters of this height. My following rides gave much of the same experience. Hopefully I just caught this woodie on a bad day, but the ride I got was not a stand-out to say the least.
