A cool experience, as there are not many dark rides like this left. Children may be frightened by the experience, although in truth the effects are a mite corny. Adults might enjoy it for this reason, or just because the ride is a bit scary but really all fun.

Capturing the feel of a true family park, Canobie even has a dark ride, and a decent one too! The ride fits in very well with the park and I really like the mines appearance. One negative about this though are the lines. Due to only a few, 4 seat cars being run, this had a very long and slow moving line. After a grueling wait, I got on and had a good time. Many of the effects were well executed and really well done, but there were a few that left me scratching my head (Egypt?). The sound was one other problem though, as it was fine during the second half, but the first half was unaudible. Its also a pretty long ride to boot. After escaping from the perils of the mine my reaction is that its well worth a ride at Canobie, but its not worth a reride thanks to the horrid line.

The Mine of Lost Souls is a good dark ride. I love the mine theme as the rides building looks like a cave. The building doesnt look all that large, but the ride housed inside actually is pretty long. Despite how I love this ride, I dont ride it nearly as much as I would want to because of the very long and slow moving line it has. Usually the line is over 45 minutes long. The mine carts look very good and certainly help improve the rides atmosphere. Now I will say that the Mine of Lost Souls isnt at all scary, which for me is a definite plus as I never have liked scary haunted houses or scary movies. The various scenes, though random (the ride had no plot at all in my opinion), were very well done. Also the ride was pretty long too. My only real problem with the ride itself other than the random plot is how quite a bit of the sound effects and dialogue is muffled a bit and hard to hear. This is certainly a very cute attraction and is worth a ride if youre into dark rides.

Mine of Lost Souls is a pretty fun dark ride, and one of few in New England. As said before, due to the low capcity, the lines do get a little long. Its really not worth the 30+ minute wait, but it is fun. The animatronics are quite nice, and most of the illusions are stunning. If the line isnt to long, I would reccomend checking it out.

i must say i was a little disappointed by this ride. its a slow moving minecar that takes you through a lost mine story which really isnt that scary or thrilling

I also dont know how the Egytian theme fits in with the story of two boys in a mine in New Hampshire (but then again, the jungle room at Knoebels is out of place also). The scenes are well done and I followed the story until the Egypt part. However the sound was garbled on hard to understand. I did like the effect of the changing plate glass. I would have liked to ride twice but time didnt permit with the length of the line.

Overall this was an enjoyable old dark ride. There was virtually no line, the theming was good, and the part where you get a little wet is cool. However I was a disappointed in the effects, probably because most of the dark rides I have been on are more modern, I dunno. But Canobie keeps it running and in great shape, which I appreciate cuz Im all for keeping older rides around, and hopefully Ill enjoy it more during future visits.

APPEARANCE-7 Building looks great and the effects seem to be working. the sound for the first half was terrible and the two ride ops were very unfriendly. CAPACITY-6 They seemed to have enough cars but sometimes their would be 5-6 cars in the station before they would load other times just one car would be in the station and they would fill it.. They also wont let you wait on the platform to speed things up. RIDE QUALITY-6 I also am confused about the egyptian theme, but hey it does not have to be realistic, and the second half was much better then the front. Again I will mention poor sound during the first half. FUN-8 Good old fashioned dark ride. I have been on better and worse. RERIDE-8 I always like to try these twice just to see if they improve and this one was good enough to see again. OVERALL-35 AVG-7.0

Its a weird weird ride. The dudes kinda reminded me of oompa loompas. One second they were all happy working together, blowing stuff up, and then the guys like "DONT GO ANY FURTHER!" and then satan comes and youre in egypt with him its just like "whaaaaa?" and then when u think sumthing cool is going to happen you see the bitter ride attendant at the end of the tunnel. If i was on heavy drugs i would have given this ride a 10/10 easilly, but since i was all toooo sober.........

Nice dark ride, though it could be better. The mine exterior looks great, as do the mine cars. However, the lines for this ride are horrendous as Canobie doesnt have too many cars and the cars only seat 4 people at max (though usually only 2 ride per car). The first half was great with some really good effects that went along with the story, but the second half was a bit confusing at times. Also, the sound wasnt all that good throughout and ruined a few of the scenes.
