This is a fun mine ride that is fast, it's fun, rerideable, nicely decorated with dark ride effects (haunted western ghost town), has a large capacity, and average duration. This is a don't miss ride when visiting KW.
OK mine ride. The outside has the most themeing. It is a good family ride. It is not scary. Nice overall dark ride. Good for small kids!
Sorry, I had to write a new review for this. I went recently, and my love for this ride was renewed to a new level. I hate to give it a 10 because I feel that it is too low. Corny? Yes. Poorly designed? Not in the least bit. People overlook the excellence of the effects due to its age, and the fact that some of the figures are not always well maintained. The ride is not scary, perse, but loud and maybe a bit startling on the first ride. However, after countless rides, the charm and hilarity level always remain the same: extremely high. If you like darkrides, and have an open mind, then this ride is the most fun you will ever have on a darkride. I just dont understand how anyone on this site could give it less than a 7.
Another ride I skipped on my first trip to KW when on a limited time schedule. This time I tried to ride as many of the non-coasters as possible and dark rides are always unique. This is a cute little ride but nothing special. Themed as a haunted western ghost town it has a few props that look ok but they are not surprising nor scary. Id rather so this type of ride a little scarier but then it wouldnt be as enjoyable for the youngest kids.
This ride gave me mixed feelings. On one hand, its a classic, so it should be treasured. On the other hand though, it could be better.
First of all, I love dark rides and I get very excited everytime I see one. This one is kind of weird. You have to actually climb up a flight of stairs onto a platform above the ground to board and the ride is on the second story of some structure. Its a very plain looking ride from the outside, but its supposed to be kind of old school, I heard. It isnt inside, though. I mean, it tries to be a little, I guess, but theyve paired a lot of odd props and a few modern stunts to make one of the weirdest dark rides Ive ever been on and sadly, one of the least remarkable. You want a dark ride like this one to actually make you jump a little and this one didnt. There wasnt much in it and what there was...I dont know. It just could have been better.
I was on with my friend and we both had to close our eyes during the spider part.I`m really afraid
of spiders. That`s why I don`t really like this ride
Kennywood Parks The Gold Rusher is a legendary and historical darkride that should be preserved and maintained forever. It is our favorite old ride at Kennywood Park!
Definently a boring ride, not scary at all... has great potential though, all it needs is some TLC or something... *lol* Great theme, needs work...
I prefer this over noah but i know im in the minority on that opinion. i really like the layaout and found it to be fun. ive only been on it once so i could have a different opinion on a second ride.
