I guess I'm the first to review the new renovated superman. This ride is my warm up coaster and is one of those rides that is just fun rather than intense. The launch is really fast and you get a total of 7 seconds of airtime. It's a lot higher than it looks and people literally look like ants down there. My only 2 complaints is the ride is really short and is way too loud. Sometimes it can be irritating when waiting in line for Goliath.

Only one track worked before, and now its down for construction and its reopening completely fixed! I can't wait! This time you'll be launched backwards at 100mph unlike before when you were launched forward at 100mph. The track has been repainted and the overall ride will be much much. The line will move somewhat faster since both tracks will be open. March! Can't wait!

Not bad, but not great. It was mediocre and it sucks that they don&#39.t run both towers. The only thing good about the ride is the semi-weightless feeling falling backwards. It is worth a try if the wait is under twenty minutes. The acceleration sucked though.

Yet another ride I have mixed feelings about. Yes Superman is tall and has incredible air on the hill, but for a coaster that goes 100mph, it doesn't feel like 100mph. It feels like half of that! Still it's a unique ride, but not as forceful as I had hoped. Beware of very long lines.

Nothing overly amazing. The line can get long pretty quickly. 100mph doesnt feel like 100mph. I felt like I was going faster on Goliath. It is over too soon. For a better, "aww... man...that was too quick of a ride" coaster, try Mr. Freeze...it is much better than Superman.

I will saw that I did have fun on it. The front row is great and the launch is not predicatable. There is no warning is is fun!

I think this ride gets unjustly ripped. I found the launch to be quite amazing. Yes its over quick but provides a nice thrill. I still remember sitting in the car and having my breath robbed from my chest as this thing barreled down the track. Granted its been years since I have ridden it but my memories recall a very enjoyable experience.

I give this a ride a 2 considering that it doesnt do enough for me. Yes, it might go a 100 and go up a 400 foot tower, but it just goes up and down. This is coming from someone who really enjoys a ride like Vertical Velocity at Six Flags Great America, and Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point. So, this is a little different than them.

I was reluctant to ride this because alot of people told me it was really lame and pointless. But I rode it anyways and Im glad I did. The launch was very strong (its no xcelerator, but still) and the weightlessness was great. The view is also great if you look to the side. I went on a really crowded day and waited over an hour for this ride, but it was totally worth it.

I was so excited to arrive at Magic Mountain and see Superman actually running. With its operational status only marginally better than that of Flashback these days, and the certainty of its future in limbo, I wasnt sure Id ever be escaping with Superman again. An Intamin reverse freefall coaster (a ride concept that never really caught on), the Superman tower is as much an icon to Magic Mountain as is the Sky Tower. The stats say this lauches from 0 to 100 mph in 7 seconds, up a 415 foot tower, delivering 6.5 seconds of weightlessness on the way back down. Im not totally convinced the ride still reaches 100 mph these days, though it is close. Even though rides today are being built with much more instantaneous acceleration, this launch is still great fun. The 90 degree turn upward is quite imposing, especially in these gigantor vehicles. As far as how far up the tower we get, Im guessing only about three-quarters of the way up. It looks a little disappointing while watching the ride, but while riding it makes no difference. You still get a really neat view of Magic Mountain tilted on its side regardless. The fall back down is great also, though you kind of have to force yourself into those 6.5 seconds of weightlessness. The last time I rode, the line seemed to be taking longer than normal, but when reaching the station I realized that it was because they were letting everyone ride twice. That was well worth it to me. All in all, I would classify Superman as an incredibly pleasant rush. It may not hold any records anymore, but it is one of the more unique, entertaining experiences at Magic Mountain, and I hope it stays that way.

I remember when I first saw this thing on the news, I was like "Holy Smokes, that thing is huge and it goes 100 MPH!" I never thought I would get a chance to ride it. I had never been to Cali and had no reason to go. Then I joined the Air Force and found myself in Utah. My two best friends were both from SoCal and coaster nuts! Lucky Me! We took a trip to Six Flags Magic Mountain and had a blast. The park overall is a bit disappointing and Superman:The Escape is a microcosm of the park. Overhyped. This ride poses a huge shadow and looks intimidating. Only one side was working at the time so the line was very slow, but it loads fast. You go through an icy looking station house and into the unique car. It is just one car and it pretty cool looking. The ride operator counts down:3...2...1...GO! You shoot out of the station excelerating to 100 MPH and then up the 400 ft tall tower. You dont go all the way up, but pretty close. You can see The Man of Steel staring at you from the top as you hang in limbo for a few seconds. The feeling of weightlessness is pretty cool. Then you start heading back down, backwards. You increase to 100 MPH again and into the station you go. Ride over. You kind of sit there for a second and say "Is that it?" It just doesnt deliver the bang that it seems to promise. It dosent come off as a true roller coaster, but just a huge flat ride. A 400 ft drop tower could deliver the same feeling. The ride sums up the day spent at Magic Mountain, "Is that it?"
