The cycle was long, but didn't really compensate for the weakness (especially compared to other swinging ships) of the ride. It was really just a breeze instead of the sensations that usually occur on a ride like this. However, because of this lack of intensity, I would say this is a fine ride to do with your children; it will probably end up being mildly thrilling for them.
I really wanted to like this swinging ship, but it just didnt compare to my favorite down in Coney. The boat was absolutely huge though so it never had a wait, and the fountain in front of the ride is really cool as well, but the ride just isnt all that good. Not even its long cycle can save it. The boat got pretty high up, but it just traveled so slowly that there were no sensations or air at all during the ride. It looked like it would be one of the best ships out there from the ground and the screams of other riders. Hey, I didnt wait at all for it so I wasnt too too upset, so give it a chance while there, but dont expect too much.
It used to be better. The swinging now is weak, but it does go high. There are no sensations to be found during the ride, but it did have no line and it did last for quite a bit.
I liked the look of the ship and the theming around the ride, but the ride itself was pretty dull. The cycle was very short, but the boat swung prettty high. However, this one lacked any air time and the forces were only minimal.
Now known as "Pirata", this huge swinging ship is one of the best Ive ever been on. It has a very impressive amount of theming surrounding it, and even had a fountain in front of it.
Very poor swinging ship in my opinion. This has a gigantic boat and therefore has a very high capacity and is one of the few rides at Canobie that is always a walk-on. The boat looks great as well, with the characters and the fountain around the ride. As a side note, this was the first swinging ship I had been on in ten years after a bad experience at a carnival that scared the heck out of me and I was expecting the worst. I ended up getting a forceless ride that had no sensations, height, or speed at all. The cycle was decent though, but just I was really disappointed by this ship.
the appearance is good, its usually a walk on, you get some good lift in the back overallits a decent pirate ship
Pirata was a good ride. Even on a crowded day you can usually just walk right on. It used to give off a pretty intense feeling when it got to the top.
But it has been tamed this year. The ship doesn'.t get any air at all. It does not go fast at all anymore.
Sorry mrc but I just was not feeling this ride. The pirates dangling off the edge were cute, but this one did not swing even nearly as high as some of the smaller portable ones Ive been on, and Ive gotten more thrills rocking in a hammock.
I have noticed that this one and the one at Compounce barely get off the ground. This one has some nice old school theming which is what made me take a spin. The boat is huge but has way to much of a fair feel for me. I was very disapointed with every version of this that I have beenon East of Ohio. I have absolutely no idea how this has a 9 average. Nice look, weak short ride. I guess it does take about ten swings to finally come to a stop and it does have that wonderful tarp hanging on the side. Go to the midwest if you want a real swinging ship.
