It seems that many people werent a big fan of Double Loop, but I thought that it was pretty good. Its interesting to think about what the buzz was back in 1977 when this coaster debuted, and how far things have come since then. Anyway, considering its age, Double Loop was not very rough at all, with maybe only one spot of noticeable bumpiness. Certainly nothing like that abominable boomerang clone in the park. This coaster had a neat look to it to me, with a western looking station and a surprise little tunnel before the lift hill. I didnt experience any wait for this either, so that was a plus.

While not overly thrilling, the layout itself for Double Loop wasnt too bad. After the slow lift climb, there was a pretty decent drop with some airtime in the back, followed by a high turnaround and another fairly good drop. The 2 loops were surprisingly smooth, although not very forceful. The ride wrapped up with a ho-hum helix, which was probably the "roughest" part of the ride. I always had a good time on this coaster, and to me its neat to ride some of these older creations that, in their prime, were considered cutting edge thrill machines. As it was, the thrill on Double Loop had subsided, but what was left was a somewhat nostalgic, fun little steel looper that was always worth a ride.

The tunnel before the lift hill was a nice touch and the first drop gave good air in the back seat. Following that was a rough turnaround hill and then a steep drop (good air time yet again in the back) followed by two smooth, back-to-back loops that were pretty weak on forces in my opinion. Afterwards was a nice air time hill, followed by a rough helix. Then there was another little hill before the brake run that gave good air as well.

One of the worst Arrow loopers, but still not the worst in the state! The loops were nice but once the ride started to move laterally things turned to hell. At least there was a little bit of airtime. I rode it for the credit, I wontt deny that at all, but I did at least expect something a little better.

It lived up to its name, however, before the first loop and after the second loop this coaster has nothing. It is a little rough and very boring. Good starter coaster for kids, but no thrills for the rest of us.

Pretty much just a really crappy Arrow looper. The padding on the seats was absurdly uncomfortable as well, which made the ride all the more unenjoyable. Seemed to be a hit with the families throughout the day, however, so I guess its still a good ride for the park. For me, however, Double Loop is another piece of junk that is only worthwhile for the coaster count

Once a record breaking coaster the Double Loop is now pretty ho-hum. However, its not rough like you might expect from something from 77 and the fact that the loops are in a ditch is kind of cool. While its not a bad coaster Double Loop is still below average mainly because of its length. Its still a nice tame installation for newbies. Final Rating - 4.0 (Below Average)

not a fun ride especially if you are in the second row of any car. You really have no legroom in the second row and your shins will become bruised (if not bloody). Im sorry I dont give extra points for significany historiacal value or first of breed. My ratings are based on ride experience only.
