Very fun Intamin impulse coaster, though its not as good as the one at Cedar Point. The launch was fast and sudden as usual and there was excellent air on the spikes, though I prefer the twisted spike to the straight spike. The ride was glass smooth throughout though and the ride was pretty long.
This isnt as good as Wicked Twister because i felt the launch on Wicked Twister was more powerful and i didnt like the straight spike, it was a waste, they should of had double twists like WT. Over all this is a coaster that if you have spare time, give it a try, its pretty thrilling.
Im not a fan of these coasters. It is a little worse than Wicked Twister, so I give it a 6. It only has one twisted spike and a straight spike, instead of two twisted spikes like WT.
Really fun coaster, as should be expected from any Impulse. Definitely a notch below Wicked Twister overall in its launches and spikes, but the unexpected holding brake on the backwards spike earns this ride an equal rating as its superior in Sandusky

Didnt do a whole lot for me. None of the impulse coasters do, but V2 at SFGAm is on an elevated platform and holds you above water, and Wicked Twister at Cedar Point is taller and has a twist on both sides, making them superior to this.
It is a fun ride, but not near as good as Wicked Twister that is taller, faster, and spins on both ends. A personal preference is riding in the back and you get good view and your drop is farther than the people in front of you.
Having never been on an impulse coaster I was looking forward to the Steel Venom. Its basically a large U with a station in the middle. The front tower is twisted and the back one is straight. Its propelled by those great LIMs that powered my #10 coaster Volcano. Overall its a good coaster, but by no means great. I know this used to S:UE, but now as SV the theming is pretty lackluster. The height and especially the speed are the coasters strong suits. The launch and the passes through the station are fun. Im a big fan of speed and inversions and I probably wouldve liked Steel Venom better if it had actual inversions. I made sure to sit in the front seat so Id get the most out of the twists and they really didnt do much for me. However, it was neat climbing the tower as you feel youre getting dangerously close to the end of the track when youre in the front seat. The back seat offers a longer drop on the straight end of the track. You also get ran through the station quite a few times so at least its not just up and back. Steel Venoms a good installation for a medium-sized park. Final Rating - 7.0 (Good)
This ride probably just gets a high score for the park it is in. However, I think this ride is really awesome.
This is SO much better than Wicked Twister. Having ridden Vertical Velocity over at Six Flags Chicago, I can tell you that the straight back with the cool pause beats the ass of the dual twisty towers. This ride could have used a little love in the cosmetics but it ran suprisingly smooth.
a 9 for the launch and the uniqueness.
