Shipwreck Falls is your typical Hopkins "shoot-the-chutes" water ride, and an above average one at that. This was the best water ride at Geauga Lake, although thats not really saying too much since the other 2 provide very weak competition. The setting, as coaster05 mentioned, did seem cramped and it was certainly not in a scenic area, which gave it that sort of "plopped in" feeling. The one boat off on the corner seemed like a rather lame attempt at theming to me. The ride itself does what it is supposed to, as you go up, turn, then splash down into the water. Everyone gets pretty soaked, although the bridge people seemed to get more of it than the actual riders did. All in all though, Shipwreck Falls provided a brief escape from the heat with a typical drop and slightly above average splash, and we did have a fun ride.
Standard Hopkins shoot the chute. This one had a decent drop as always and the splash got me soaked as usual. The impact from the splash while on the bridge is very strong on this on though.
Not much to ramble on about this water - filled attraction, what you see is what you get, but it is still the best thing imaginable on a 90 degree day, complete with sunscreen as a requirement. Experiencing the splash is a Godsend when needed, and then come the wonderful shivers. Oh, and Coaster05 is right on about the bridge. I actually have witnessed a 13-14 year old girl get knocked down, so yes, be prepared for a good one!
Probably the smallest splash boats ride I have ridden. Even so, it does a good job getting you wet, and the line was quick on a hot day.
Its a fun way to cool off on hot days. Pretty simple however. Up, down, splash. The bridge also really gets you soaked.
This is an awesome ride, despite what others say about it! This one cant be missed on those hot summer days. And, unlike what a couple other reviewers said, you get more than "wet" - you get completely drenched!!! This is the best example of its type that Ive ridden on!
Im giving this a "10" since its drenching splash is very welcome on hot days!
And, by the way, the people running this ride yesterday didnt care if you had shoes on or
not

...
An average shoot-the-chutes ride. A nice splahdown that gets you wet but doesnt neccesarily soak you. If your riding just to get wet, you may want to just stand on the bridge. It is quicker and gets you ten times wetter.
Standing on the bridge is fun, but I have seen what can happen to a younger patron who wasnt ready for the impact. He was busted open pretty bad, lots of blood. Ride is the same as most. Up, Down, Splash. Is not in a very scenic area of the park either, feels a little cramped.
a decent ride, except for the part where you have to take your shoes off. they get drenched anyway. also a little more height on the lift hill would help. This ride is good for those, hot, muggy, summer days
Times ridden: 5+ ~ Ride experience: 8 ~ Thrill factor: 8 ~ Landscaping: 8 ~ Evaluation: Shipwreck Falls is a Hopkins schute ride which gets the riders drenched. The ride is an excellent way to escape the hot and humid Ohio summer.
