When it comes to kiddie/family coasters, I try to review them in comparison to others in the same genre, and not against adult coasters. That being said, I thought Beaver Land Mine Ride was an above average and fairly good family coaster. So many kiddie coasters have the rather uninspired "oval with a hump" layout, and it was nice to see a coaster like this that is still tame enough for the kids to enjoy, while actually having a layout to it. The train is insanely long on this type of coaster, meaning waits were non-existant, which was great (especially at Geauga).
The little main drop was nice, and then the train picked up a decent amount of speed (for a family coaster anyway) as it navigated the other turns/drops. My brother and I went on this for just the credit, but wound up laughing and having a really good time. I only wish it wouldve had some trees around the course or something, which would have added to this neat little coaster. BLMR was a nice family coaster overall that thrilled the kids and made the adults feel young again while taking 2 laps on this "little coaster that could". Final Rating – 6.5/10
Standard tivoli coaster, but it just seemed mediocre compared to the others Ive been on. This one seemed slower throughout the ride, but the back still did have decent laterals during the first two drops and Geauga Lake gave 2 circuits. However, there was no landscaping or anything around the ride.
This was actually the longest line I waited in. Five minute dispatches pretty much null the ridiculously long trains as far as capacity goes. The ride was a standard model that offers no stand-out moments, and it doesnt even offer a decent setting like, say, the one at Tripsdill. Just another kiddie credit.
They call it a family coaster but its a glorified kiddie coaster.
This is a bit of a pathetic family coaster. You get 2 tours, but it is so boring all but the youngest and least adventurous kids will want to stay away from this one.
I rode this ride only for the coaster count, considering I rode an exact clone at SFGAdv weeks before. It was kinda cool that you got two rides around the course, but overall I would have preferred just one lap because the ride isnt that fun. The extraordinarily long trains are always hilarious to see, however
This was a fun little family coaster. Its the exact same coaster as the Poison Ivy coaster at SFNE except for different theming and less foilage. The station operator gave us two rides. Im not sure if it was because the park was pretty empty or they always do that. The train for BLMR is themed after a railroad train and is really, really long. The foilage added a lot to Poison Ivy and the lack of trees on the BLMR allowed you to see the entire layout and made the ride seem shorter. Still, I have to give it some credit for the two rides. Great for kids or grown-up kids wanting a break from the more intense coasters. Final Rating - 5.0 (Average)
A surprisingly "wicked" little ride in the back seat. I wasnt expecting anything from this one, but found myself laughing through the entire course.
This thin has some giddy-up to it. I was surpised how much of a whip you gt from it when you ride towards the back of the train. Dont let its smaller height tun you away so eaisily, i is a un ride.
I had lots of fun on this, and thought it was way better than Woodstock at CP [for comparison]. Its a kids coaster, so I mean its not going to get a 10, but its a fun ride.
