This ride is atrocious. It is by far the worst flat in the park and hurts alot. Im glad it is getting removed.

Double Trouble and Time Warp will forever be linked because of their well-documented identity crisis amongst both park-goers and enthusiasts. In fact, even park employees acknowledged the park’s comical gaff. Well Time Warp, the park’s Vekoma Air Jumper operated two sides and lacked any clock theming whatsoever. Meanwhile, Double Trouble only operated one side whenever it was open and had clock theming. Finally after years Six Flags decided to act. Too bad they decided to remove both flats and replace them with essentially nothing.

Double Trouble was located in the South End right next to the Caped Crusader. Now an expensive and flashy 3-point shootout game resides where this seldom-operating Chance inverter once sat. Was it a fair trade off? Not in my eyes, but for the park it was a huge payoff as they substituted a mechanical nightmare and for an expensive upcharge attraction that yields considerable cash daily. However when it did operate, I never ever did see Double Trouble with any kind of line at all, even with only one side open. Typically, only 3-4 people rode each cycle.

Onto the ride itself and honestly Double Trouble was a fairly mediocre attraction while it operated. First and foremost, it sported excessively snug restraints. Not only did that make the ride an uncomfortable experience, but they also sapped the ride of what could have been some killer hang-time going over the top. While the motions were new and refreshing to me having never been on an inverter before, the tightness of the restraints made the disorienting flips a tad painful. Not only was the ride uncomfortable, but it lasted barely over 30 seconds, no joke. I recall only getting three whole flips and then the ride came to a screeching halt.

Double Trouble ultimately was a rather poor flat that had plenty of potential with its unique and disorienting motion, but those uncomfortable restraints and one of the shortest cycles I’ve ever experienced saps almost all of this attractions enjoyment. If this still resided at the park to this day, I probably still would give it a ride or two each visit, but its absence isn’t as disappointing as is Time Warp’s or even Rodeo’s.

I didnt have any comfort issues with Double Trouble at all. The restraints were snug, to be sure, but they werent painful. It was pretty much the norm for a typical Inverter flat ride. Also, this one didnt ever leave us hanging in an upside down position, so the restraints werent an issue that way either. The only issue I guess I did have with this one was the duration--it was an incredibly short ride. It gave us a few continuous loops in one direction, and that was it. Fun while it lasted, but it could have done a lot more. Plus only one vehicle was working. It would have looked cool I imagine to see both running together.

Call me crazy but I actually enjoyed this ride. I like slow rides that flip, and instead of unsettling my stomach this one sorta relaxed me.

This thing hurts a lot. First, the walls are high, so you feel like nothings hapenning. I sat down, waiting, hopeing itd be decent. Then, the restraints came down. I wanted to cry in pain. Next, the yellow placeholder things came down. I couldnt imagine it coming down any further. Then the ride started. Every time it was upside down, the thing seemed to get tighter and tighter. I hope this thing is torn down.

I kind of enjoy Double Trouble. Once you are latched in, its actually a pretty fun ride that provides a really weird feeling.
