A pretty zippy woodie; the forested setting is great for it. Good air time as well.

It is just to wild on the twists and lack the hills.

Best wooden coaster in the park. I love the rides setting in the woods and the first drop gave good air, as did the following drop. The tunnel was the best part as it threw me around a lot and was just flat out wild. Afterwards was a boring turnaround, followed by a series of bunny hills that gave decent air time.

Im sorry, but i dislike this coaster very much. I usually dont mind wooden coasters even if theyre rough, but this was VERY rough.I would recommend to go on the Hurler. I enjoyed that 1.

The Grizzly is my favorite wooden coaster at Kings Dominion. While the coaster can be somewhat difficult to find (you have to go through a gift shop), it is well worth the hunt since the coaster delivers a wild and satisfying ride. Nestled in the woods, the Grizzly feels like an escape from the rest of the park and the lift hill is very serene. The first drop and subsequent turnaround give nice pops of air, but then the bear reveals itself with the Grizzly's epic tunnel. Words cannot describe what happens in there, but it's awesome and a truly out-of-control experience. The rest of the coaster consists of a decent mix of bunny hills that have a tiny bit of air and some surprisingly good laterals. While the steel behemoths are the more popular attractions, do not forget about the bear.

Near the front of the train the ride is pretty good, but towards the back the ride is a little rough for my liking. The setting is very nice and the tunnel is a high point. The ride is pretty respectable overall, but a few steps down from the truly great woodies.

Grizzly is a pretty good wooden that is currently one of my personal favorites. The setting is second to none, although the park just cut down a ton of trees in the queue line to make room for the new Go Kart Attraction. The first drop is good, but then the worst part of the ride happens: a large second hill that is just slow, slow, slow around the turn-around. Whats worse is that the second hill it self isnt even that great. After that though, the ride has great pacing and is one wild ride! The third hill provides some nice air while it leads to a nice headchopper inside a tunnel. Inside that tunnel is one of the roughest sections of coaster track anywhere. Its just insane. Fortunitely that ends soon enough so the roughness is still enjoyable. The rest of the ride is more hills and turns all in the woods. Some provide good air, some dont. All in all, this is a good wooden, and a PKD classic, yet it still leaves a bit to be desired.

I had been waiting to ride Grizzly all day, and I was not dissapointed! This is one wild woodie, so Grizzly is a perfect name for it. From start to finish, this ride was throwing me all over the place with some spectacular laterals and even one or two spots of ejector air (which would have been better with less confining restraints!). The tunnel was totally awesome, and the speed of the ride didnt let up until the end. Grizzly certainly is a wild little woodie and should not be missed!

Out of all the wooden coasters at Kings Dominion, this is the signature one. The drops arent any big. But they are very nicely placed. Theres the first drop but the 2nd drop starts the fun part. You get bounced around like crazy and the tunnel is nuts. I dont know whats going on in the tunnel but it shakes you up all over the place left and right. Then it turns into a perfectly timed drop and another turn. Many turning bunny hops bouncing you everywhere. Very nice wooden coaster.
