Don't EVER miss a drop ride because they are awesome as rides come(especially this one)!
My favorite Intamin drop tower. The sheer size of the tower is huge and the views from the top are incredible. Also, this ride has a huge capacity, which is rare for a lot of drop towers. Unfortunately, this gyro drop doesnt spin, but the drop was exceptional. It seemed to go on forever and I got excellent ejector air the whole way down and I completely lost my stomach.
I love this ride, though i like tower of terror alot better. I dont know why, maybe because it pulls you down, but tower of terror was A TON more intense to me, but this ride ranks close to it.Good ride.
The tower is pretty tall and you get a typical fun drop tower ride. It is very good but not great.
The ride is just crazy to look at, and I finally got a chance to ride Drop Zone yesterday in its 4th season. Having been scared half to death on Hellavator a few weeks ago, I was expecting a bit more from D-Zone, but unfortunitely I didnt quite get that stomach drop effect that I was desiring. I think it may have been because I was slouching in my seat a lot (OTSRs and 6-4 guys dont mix well

) but for some reason, it really wasnt all that frightening for me. It was fun, and a bit better than Hellavator and Tower of Doom, and is certainly one of my favorite flat rides. I was also amazed by the smoothness. Yet, it still isnt up with elite coasters as far as ranking is concerned. It is my favorite drop tower so far.
--------------------
Edit-I liked this ride a lot more on my second ride, and upgraded the rating to an 8. I still didnt feel much airtime on the direct drop. I did float all the way down, so that made up for it.
Pretty anticlimactic. You go all the way up, its scary. The drop and anticipation is extremely scary and thrilling. But, I dont want to ride an attraction to be scared. I want it to be fun. It was fun but I dont think Ill ride this too much.
A definate must ride at PKD. It is 300 feet tall and it gives nice air time when you drop from the top. The view of the park is also nice from the top. I just wishd it rotated in a circle before it dropped so you could see all views of the park.
Intense! Intense! Intense! Intense! Intense!
This is much better than a typical "Drop Zone" tower. This is a large continuous ring instead of smaller stations around the tower. Plus the massive size (305 ft) is awe-inspiring. People stand around the bottom and just stare and wonder how anyone could ride it. I rode it and loved it. I have always enjoyed these towers and this is one of the best. It gives such an awesome rush. Then the sudden stop makes the feeling go the opposite way. Pretty wicked.
Just looking up at the 305 ft. tower before you get in line is intimidating. Once you are in the comfortable Intamin seats, bracing the metal grips on your restraint. A terrifying bump, and your heading up into the sky. About half-way up the tower, all of the other rides are succumbed to Drop Zones height, all of them except the Eiffel Tower.
With an adrenaline filled moment, you are lifted off of your seat and free falling. One experience you will never want to miss. The drop seems it lasts for an eternity, then abruptly stopped by the brakes. And Drop Zone definately calls it close between the gondola and the ground.
Such an awesome experience! Try not to miss this on any trip to PKD.
