The Whip is a flat ride. It is fast, fun, rerideable, it has a large capacity, and a long duration.
You really cannot get much better than a classic ride like the Whip. Dorneys is in fine shape too, as it is very well maintained and looks great. And thankfully, it rides just as great as it looks! The concept on this is so simple, yet it is an outright blast to ride! I dont think Ive ever gotten through a ride on this without laughing. The ride on it is outstanding, as Dorneys Whip runs a nice long cycle and has tremendous whipping action around the ends that is both speedy and smooth. This is certainly one of the best flats at the park, and this nostalgic gem delivers an immensely fun ride that all will enjoy over and over again.
This was one of my favorite whips out there. Dorney has maintained this very well over the years, as the ride still looks great and runs well. The cycle is quite long and the whipping action around the corners is very smooth and pretty fast as well.
You dont see these contraptions around much, so naturally you gotta ride. I think Dorney Park is taking pretty good care of there version, it still runs nice and smoothly like how it ran in the 20s. The whipping sensation is mad fun. The only con was that the line can be kinda long at some points, but thats alright. So, I will kill the next person who thinks these things should be obliterated.
The ride has a terrible loading time, nonetheless it was the best Whip Ive been on. It was much faster and more intense than Hersheys or Knoebels. The cycle wasnt great, but not many people would want a longer one, considering the intensity. Im very glad Cedar Fair hasnt butchered this classic flat ride from Dorneys lineup.
I had never ridden a ride like this before, so I had to take the opportunity to give this one a try. Its obvious at a glance that this is an old ride, but it is well maintained. It is a simply designed but fun ride. You wont be amazed or anything, but if the line is small and you need a break. Give this ride a try.
Whip is a good ride. It is hard to believe this was built in the 1920s. It sort of looks like new ride to me! Its good that this ride survived. It is one of the rides that survived from the real Dorney era
I really dont see what is so great about this ride anymore. Sure, it was alot of fun when i was little, but riding it this summer at dorney...It was, very..stale? It just seems after you whip on the curves a few times it just gets boring. Its loud too, but atleast it has nice cars. A good classic though i guess, worth atleast one ride in the day if theres notihng else to do.
Like many said before, this ride gets a lot of credit simply for being a classic. This was the first Whip I had ever been on and despite its old and passive appearance, its actually a ball to ride! The carts whip pretty fast around the turnarounds; My sister noted that the front end of the occupied cart in front of us would rise off the floor while traversing the turn. The ride is in incredible condition for its age; it actually looks like it could have been built only last year! I especially liked the paint job on the cars, very classic looking. The Whip is a very good ride at Dorney, dont miss it when you go!
Oh I LOVE The Whip! These rides are so awesome. They dont make rides like this anymore. I wish they did!
