I really love this ride. The launch take off and the drop give you that wonderful feeling in your stomach, like being tickled, that you just want to laugh. I still have to go and try its big brother, Top Thrill Dragster, I can't wait get over there.

Though not as good as a lot of other Intamin launched coasters out there, this still was my favorite ride in the park. The launch was as always insanely powerful and quick, as I was pinned to my seat and a prisoner to the rides insane Gs. Afterwards was a great top hat that gave really good air wherever you are in the train. Then came two forceful turns and then the ride was over, but it was too short as these coasters usually are.

My first coaster above 200 feet. Actually my first coaster above 150. It was quite a jump, especially because I was still afraid of drops. The only launch I had done before this one was Montezoomas Revenge, which is obviously much slower than this. I was hoping to have the courage to ride Xcelerator, but when I got to Knotts it was seemed closed. At about 11:30 (I dont know for sure I didnt look at the time) I saw it being tested and ran right over to get the first in line. I barely managed to force myself into the front seat (I find the front of coasters the least scary). I was terrified until the train rolled back. I dont know why, but rolling back made me calm down, and before I knew it we were off. Wow! This is an amazing launch! My picture on the launch was just a huge goofy smile ear to ear. Just two seconds later we began going up the top hat and twisting. This part is fun, but does not do much compared to my next and most favorite part- the top hat and drop. I heard there was a lot of airtime over the hill, but I was not prepared for this! My lap bar was quite loose at with at least a half inch of space between me and the bar, and I was out of my seat the whole time at the top. The drop was basically pure free fall, and the gs coming out of the drop are great but not overwhelming. Sadly the last two "overbanks" were not up to the standard of the rest of the ride but they gave me a great time to catch my breath and have some fun just cruising at what I believe I heard to be over 60 miles per hour. The brake run was a little too fast, but I had read about this and braced well while half the others got whiplash! I continued to ride this 3 more times during the day. I rode twice in the back car and once in the middle. The middle is the most boring part for me but still has some good airtime like the rest of the train. The back is amazing. I put my hands up and on the drop I was being PUSHED out of my seat. That 2 seconds is worth the whole long wait. My one big complaint is loading time. This could easily have a 15-20 minute wait but trains were dispatching so slowly it took an extra 15. Tell you the truth, this ride runs faster by running only one train, and the second one just gets the people on the previous one get stuck waiting for the next train to launch for another 2 minutes. Im sorry if I bored you with this review which contains a lot of stuff I did, but it was my first hypercoaster and obviously a very important memory for me.

The launch is amazing. When the train rolled back I had white knuckles around the lap bar and then it launched and it pins your head against the headrest. Coming down from the top hat it feels like your going to fall out of your seat.

This ride gets an 8 because the launch is unbelievable. The train propels forward in a blur until you find yourself on the top hat. How did I get here? Then you plummet down a nice drop, very forceful from the back seat, and into a few decent turns. Watch out for that brake run! Its a gut buster if you have your arms up when it hits. This ride loses a few points for not having a full course after the top hat, and the brake run being so nasty.

In some ways, this is a sort of mini version of Kingda Ka or the Top Thrill Dragster. You go from a dead stop to 82 mph in less than 2.5 seconds, up a 200 ft tall tower (completely vertical) over a small himm then straight down (also completely vertical). Its roughly 40 mph slower and 200+ ft shorter than KK or TTD, but make no mistake, still mucho fun. The launch is very intense, and the climb and drop are more fun than a barrel of monkeys (or so I assume). It also has a couple things those bigger coasters dont: some track with actual ride elements after this opening salvo, in the form of two swooping overbanked curves. Its a short ride, but the real purpose is to give you a fast, heavy-duty rush, and it unquestionably delivers.

My ride on Xcelerator was hampered by the stapling I recieved from the operators courtesy of my awful tourguides. Apparently we are supposed to get air on the top hat, but I got nothing but groin-area pain. The overbanks and twisty track section was actually pretty fun, and for years I had imagined it to be pointless in nature judging by photos. This ride still, like the Stratas, doesnt touch Storm Runner -- overall, a GREAT launch (one of the best around) and a fun ride but just not quite my preference. Funny how its not even the best launch coaster in the park, IMO

Great rocket coaster. Dont blink because you are to the top of the top hat by the time you open your eyes back up. I am a speed freak. So the overbanked curves help continue a good ride with some extra track to enjoy the pace. I encourage sitting in the back and you get some good airtime coming over the top hat.

This ride is the best one at the park. the wait can be a bit long, but it is always worth it especially in the very front seat and very back seat. it would be nicer if the ride was a little bit longer, but it is still worth it anyway. it has a pretty nice theme to it with the cars, all i can say is that it is just fun and youll want to go on it again and again.
