I rode this ride the weekend it opened back in 1978 and as far as I am concerned it has not lost its appeal. I took my son on the ride 18 years later, when he was 6 years old, and it was his first looping rollercoaster. We rode in the front and he loved it. Thank goodness he likes rollercoasters as much as I do.

Best shuttle loop coaster Ive been on. Thanks to the flywheel launch, this had the most intense launch of the shuttle loops Ive been on and the loop had stronger Gs therefore on this one as well. Following that was a nice spike that gave some good air and then the loop was repeated in reverse, with even stronger Gs in my opinion. The second spike didnt give any air for me though.

Once again an amazing launch, white knuckles around the bar as it launched, same as xcellerator. I got tunnel vision on the loop.

I love this ride! My favorite so far. Although I give GhostRider a better rating, I enjoy this one as much. GhostRider is just longer and...I dont know, I cant explain it. Anyways, this was my first looping coaster and it did not leave me wanting more- or less for that matter! 0-55 is 4 seconds is not as fast as it much was, and Im sure many cars of today could do it easily. The launch was fun at all times, and 3 out of 5 times I had my hands up the whole time other than the first second. I would say in the first second the launch is fairly intense but the other three lack this feature. My first time it felt crazy the whole time but the subsequent times only the first second felt this way. The loop is magnificent- the forwards loop is very fast and I felt heavier at the top of the loop. The backwards loop I felt slightly lighter due to the decrease in speed. Compared to the Silver Bullet the loop is nice and forceful and the ride is not ridiculously smooth. I think it is the perfect blend of roughness and smoothness that a coaster should have. The spikes did not seem to have any airtime though. In my opinion the back is the best place to sit on this ride because the ending spike gives a nice view. At the very end keep your hands on the handrail because it is very very jerky! Loading time is very slow, and is a shame because the ride could run pretty fast if it wanted to. I could ride this coaster again and again, and it is one of my favorites at Knotts.

Im not feeling this ride the way some are. I remember an old coaster at SFNE - WAAAAY back when it was still Riverside. It was, I think, originally called "the loop" (later the black widow). You went straight forward, thru a vertical loop, then backwards to the start/end. It seemed like a big deal at the time cause hey - it went upside down! But the most boring layout imaginable. Well, Montezoomas Revenge has exactly the same layout. Snooze-o. In fairness, it has its upsides. It is a nice loop and all, and for a split second its launch acceleration is intense, but then it backs off quickly. Worth going on if theres a short line.

To me, this was the best ride in the park. First, it has an awesome name! Secondly, it is the only flywheel shuttle left in America (I think Astroworlds is being relocated in Texas next year, so thats good) and there is a big difference in flywheel versus weight-drop like most of them are. The launch is intense, REAL intense, and the loop is typical in its awesomeness. The spike is cool and all but one of the best things in the world comes next: backwards through a Schwarzkopf loop. Just incredible. Overall, a fantastic ride, one of the best in Southern California.

An older ride that has held up pretty good over the years. This was my first flywheel launch coaster. I thought the launch was very comfortable, but not paticularly thrilling in comparison to the other launch in the park. The loop was pretty forceful and quick. I really didnt notice any airtime on either of the spikes. Overall a fun, quick ride. The lap bar really adds to the adventure leaving the rider a little less secure, especially during the loop.

I was very excited to ride my first shuttle loop thisd summer at Knotts. These rides are becomming rare, which is a shame because Id pick one of these over a Boomerang anyday. The launch was so-so, nothing spectacular, although I have to give it credit. This coaster launches better than some launched coasters built in the late 90s, so that gives it some points. The loop was fun, but to me the highlight of the ride was the end spikes.

Montazooma’s Revenge is a very simple yet lovable coaster. The launch is fun, not as intense as todays hydraulic launched and air-compressed coasters, yet still fun nonetheless. From then on it is a standard shuttle loop coaster. This is the only one I’ve been on during my coaster riding career, so it was a very unique experience for me. The aspect of this ride that I enjoyed the most was the spike on the back-end of the ride. As the train looses speed and begins to drop back into the station, the feeling becomes indescribable. Montazooma’s Revenge is a classic experience and a must-ride at Knott’s Berry Farm.
