Not really a good ride at all. But i cant really complain, because it is a kiddie ride and just by looking at it you can see that it will bore you. I could almost go to sleep. Honestly the best part of the ride is the line when your in range of the mist blown at you by the fans minus the dreadful wait.
Very bad coaster in my opinion. First off, this is a capacity nightmare as each car only seats two riders. Also, IOA has rules against adults riding. Anyway, the ride was really dull, but it did offer decent views and the swinging was decent on this one, but the ride was just too slow and there were no drops at all.
OK, my new favorite suspended coaster. Thats right i like it better than Big Bad Wolf as it is the first and only one where I noticed the swinging effect. And the ride cars are just sooooo cute.
Its not huge and capacity is a horror, but I had no trouble from the ride ops since I went on this as my first ride of the day before lines started forming.
This ride is a classic example of a very poor decision by a park. I suspect whoever signed off on it to have been under the influence of crack at the time. They put a coaster that probably has less than a 100 riders per hour capacity smack in the middle of a $70/gate park that only has 3 major coasters, and then put a kids only rule on it. Although that rule is apparently no longer enforced, who thought putting this low-capacity nightmare into a high profile park was a good idea? Its not like IOA has 12 other coasters.
Pteranodon Flyers does have a gorgeous queue, and is reasonably fun for a kiddie coaster. Its very much like riding a swing, which is a unique sensation.
Not that I actually cared about riding this thing way back whenever my only ride was. I was with a couple friends and they thought it would be funny, so we thought wed give it a try. I figured the ride ops would say no anyways, but they didnt - probably becuase it was SO dead that day. A couple nice views of the area, but thats it. I guess I can see why the yougins may enjoy it.
Its pretty much just worth the credit - rules against riding when you are an adult, and terrible capacity team with a really short and weak layout to make this a terribly boring ride. Thank god I happened to be the first back in the section of the park that day, and did not have to wait in line nor steal a kid.
Liked it the first and only time i went on it which was the first time i went to IOA. But several next visits i could not stnd to waste the time it took to get onto the ride. over an hour for a 20 second ride. NO WAY, but quite an enjoyable ride when you are on it. If you can get to it early go n it because give it 15 mins and the queue will be over an hour!
This is a fun ride even for adults. The key is to ride it first thing in the morning before the line gets long and before they restrict the adult riders to those that have kids with them.
Why did IOA even build this ride? I waited 45 min to get on it and the ride was a mere 20 seconds long. Bascially you just sit there and it glides at 5mph. The only thrill of the ride was being hoisted above the park with a only a little seat holding you up. Dont recommend it
Skip it. We had a child in our group so we rode it. The whole "You must have a child, no matter how big the party is" policy is dumb. The line normally reaches the hour line mark anyways. The reason this deserves a three is because the theming is cool and the fact that the ride flies over the Jurassic camp and forest. Other than that, skip it!
