Dr. Seuss will forever be remembered for his classic, the Cat in the Hat. I mean honestly, who hasn’t read that imaginative book as a kid? Since its release, it has been read by many, transformed into a movie (and a pretty funny one too) and Universal even adapted it into a full-fledged theme park attraction. Well how does it live up to the book’s lofty reputation. Quite well, quite well.

Anchoring Seuss Landing, one can’t help but direct their eyes towards the iconic red and white striped hat that dominates the land. Despite its popularity and the massive size of its queue, it was fortunately a walk-on when I visited this past summer so I got a few rides back to back. After moving through the colorful queue, I reached the deserted station where I boarded one of the ride’s many cartoonish couches. And I applaud the team working this ride as despite the nonexistent crowds, they didn’t waste any time.

For anyone who by some chance never read the book, two kids are left home alone bored out of their minds until a cat in a hat (duh) arrives to inject fun in their lives leading to mayhem upon mayhem ensuing in their usually orderly house. All of the scenes were very well executed in my opinion and the audio was flawless and perfectly synched up with the attraction. The whole story is incredibly easy to follow and it was very entertaining from beginning to end; however, I wasn’t too fond though on the stylistic presentation of the scenes since it lead to a lot of empty space during the attraction that just ruined my experience somewhat. This however was made up for by the ride’s unique feature- the spinning vehicles. And boy did that catch me off-guard. Not only was it unexpected, but the spinning even had some Gs! Not only is the attraction a good time, but it’s also quite lengthy.

Cat in the Hat is definitely a worthy adaptation of the book and unlike the movie, it stays true to the plot. One shouldn’t even consider skipping this unique dark ride while at the park since it really is a fresh and different dark ride that is executed quite well with the only real flaw was the aforementioned “empty space” present at many points of the attraction. Nonetheless, Dr. Seuss’ beloved Cat shines in this one-of-a-kind dark ride as one of the park’s better attractions.

This is the only ride I like at Islands of Adventure. The only part I don&#39.t like is the spinning. Other then that its good. Not too wild.

This ride did a great job of telling the story of the Cat in the Hat, as well as throwing in some spinning to make it even better.

Although I am not a huge fan of this story at all, I really liked this dark ride. the spinning of the cars gives it a very unique feel and the theming is done very well and follows the story closely. No matter what I just cant stand that cat, but the ride is something I would definately do again.

Some of my family hate this ride as they say after a day of walking the last thing they want to do is spin around very quickly. I love it what a great ride and i dont mind spinning around but obviously it affects my dad and mum. But they think its worth it to go on it as the themeing is top notch!

Simply put this got to be the best family dark ride Ive been on. Dazzling special effect with lazers and such colorful setting enligtens every memebr in our car. Spining is a typical fashion for a dark ride but this baby creats a dizzy feeling casue you are surrounded by endless amount of props, anamatronics or animations that throws you right in the heart of this lovely story book. The duration of the ride is what stands out to beat loads of Disneys dark ride IMO. It is almost five mins long which gives you long enough time to be fully immersed into the ride. The entired land is heavily themed and this ride is the gem of the land.

My friend and I had just ridden the Hulk and right before that both dragons (fire and ice)...we were just going to walk around and we saw the "Cat In The Hat"...we just decided to ride it since we needed a "cool off" ride...the line time said 15 min. we ended up waiting for 45 min...we almost got out, but then we just decided to ride it...when we rode it...we both had a lot of fun...yes it might be sorta "cheesy"...but with the combination of fast spins and turns...it is a very fun ride...highly themed (like every ride at IOA)...the best part is with all the color streaks and you spin like 10 times...it was fun...it is an excellent ride....i suggest...

This ride does exactly what it should. It gives you a ride of the book. If your a Seuss fan then youll realize how much they have put into this. A great blast from the past if you an immature adult like me.
