By far the best Zipper Ive been on. It amazes me how a flat thats been around for so long can still be so much fun! This one seems to be in great working order and sits in a great boardwalk location. It is a totally disorienting and jostling ride. Good thing is your completely buffered by padding and locked into place pretty good. Trimpers also deserves kudos for keeping all the lights working. I havent laughed this hard on a ride in a long time.
Finally I had the nerve to ride the OC Zipper, after all the horror stories I was told as a child by mean older brothers & the like. The bored teenage operators ran it fast and hard. The unpredictable spinning motion is wonderfully disorienting, although there is the impending sense of doom when you zoom face down towards the asphalt and hear the putt-putt motor getting dangerousely close. Just when you think youve survived, now backwards! It would get 1 point higher if the doors lap bar werent so tight & I could hit my head on the ceiling (note to self: avoid Thrashers & funnel cake to fit better). Update - it went one point higher for being run faster and harder, repeatedly, and yes, I hit my head on the ceiling.
This ride is great because it is a different ride every time so it is easy to ride more than once.I also love the out of control feeling and those sudden flips and drops. One of the best flat rides in my opinion.
you cannot beat the zipper! a scary as s*** classic ride! scary the way it makes your head feel. scary biker dudes running the thing. scary rust all over it. scary little engine running it that looks like its from somebodys lawn mower. the zipper allows one to feel a sensation no major park would ever let you feel for fear of ride malpractice out the yazoo. that is the sensation of experiencing positive g-forces through ones head. often while zippering, ones "cab" tilts so that ones head is upside down while the ride itself places you on the lowest point of its down swing. that is a very uncomfortable feeling. positive Gs should be absorbed through the hind quarters not the head. however, i wouldnt have it any other way because i like the occasional unnatural experience. my favorite thing to do as a young lad was to take girls i was interested in on this very zipper in ocean city. "cmon, please ride the zipper with me....pleease." it was a hard sell, because it is an evil contraption through and through and looks the part. but it was a successful come-on, because the feeling of impending doom can bond two people. such a simple brilliant idea, i wonder who thought of it? they look so cheap, i almost feel like i could start saving now and eventually buy one for my back yard. the best carny staple ever, hands down, and the one at trimpers is the classic for marylanders.
maybe its just because i dont like zippers, UHHHHH i hated this ride. this ride i am only going on once, never again. from what i have heard it must be a good ride....to most people
Pretty good, liked it. Not one of my favorites but its still awsome. Though 1 or 2 times is enough
The unpredictable, constant-motion sensation of this ride is unbeatable, but I am partial to coasters, so this ride scores a little lower for me. Still, I like it and Id ride it again. You will always have a blast on this ride!
This classic is awesome. It is also unpredictable, sometimes you flip a lot, othertimes you dont. One of the best rides at Trimpers.
Much better than the Chaos rides found throughout the country. This park has an especially good one because of the water view. This is the best ride in the park. Better than the tower, Tidal Wave and Toboggen. This is the second best flat ride I have rideen (behind the Derby Racer at Playland in Rye New York.) I like this ride so much because of its unpredictable nature. Unlike other flip rides this one also has height and isnt all that painful. If you ever come to Ocean City, MD. and have not experienced a Zipper be sure to give this a ride.
not the best ride in the world- but it is fun to ride and fly everywhere- really no knowing which way u r goin!
