For the most part, Thunder Canyon is a good river rapids ride. The wait on this one is excruciatingly long, but that is kind of the standard for rides like this on days when it actually is warm enough to justify doing it. The scenery on the ride is fantastic, and the setting is great with plenty of rockwork and trees. And the waterfalls at the finale are pretty soaking and almost guarantee that you will come off fairly soaked. However, the one thing I was a bit disappointed with was that the rapids just seemed awfully calm to me. It was more or less a pretty leisurely stroll in our raft, with very few of the choppy rapids that can add to the excitement of these types of rides. Still a good ride for a hot day, and definitely a fun choice, but probably my least favorite water ride at Cedar Point.

Thunder Canyon was a nice looking rapids ride. The landscaping around the ride was very nice, but for the most part the ride is uneventful and keeps riders relatively dry. That is until the waterfall finale, which absolutely soaks everyone.

You get really soaked on this one, not too extream, but fun if you make a bet with a friend on who will get soaked first.

This ride was OK, but I dont think Id ride it more then once through the day. I stupidly dismissed the signs about how you are going to get soaked (since on others I have been on it says that, and you get a little splashed here and there and maybe the mist of a waterfall, but here you are actually under the waterfalls getting water pounded on you!) and well, ended up completely drenched which is pretty bad since I had a whole day ahead of me. It was also boring aside from the parts with the falls. Landscaping/theming was nice though...

A good raft ride. Possibility of getting drenched is very high making it a great ride for the heat of summer. It also makes it a capacity nightmare in the hotter summer months. A classic raft ride but not quite as god as PKIs model. It also gets a cool makeover into Werewolf Canyon for HalloWeekends.

As I get older these just become less fun and more like a day in the yard with a hose. I enjoy the theming but they are all so similar, they just blend in. This does make an awesome Fright Fest attraction when it is full of werewolves.

Only ride this if you are prepared to get completely soaked, and make sure you dont accidently swallow the water because it comes right from the lake and it doesnt taste too good lol.

I usually dont do water rides but my sister was bitching for two days so I rode with her at night last May in 50 degree weather. The operators were shocked that two semmingly grown-up mid-30ish adults would do something so stupid in 50 degree weather with no chance to dry off. But the possible joy of seeing my sister complain even more when she got soaked was too appealing to pass on. Throughout the ride my sister got a light dousing but every empty seat seemed to get hit. Coming into the last waterfall my sister was going straight at it, Im sitting across from her laughing hysterically, but the raft hits a boulder does a 180 degree spin and I get off the ride soaking wet. Luckily mt brother-in-law was holding my sweatshirt as the 25 minutes walk back to the Breakers was a teeth chattering and excruciating walk in wet shorts.
