I am glad I got my ride on this before it was destroyed. Not because it was good or memorable, but because it took me to my third visit to get that credit. The ride was not really that rough, but there are just so many of this ride that who would even miss one or two.

I rode Python about two weeks before it closed. My dad convinced my sister to ride it, as she was just about ready to conquer her fear of going upside-down. I had second thoughts after reading all of the negative reviews about the ride, but I ultimately decided to give it a try. I actually didnt find it too bad; the corkscrews were smoother than I thought they would be, so my sister and I both enjoyed them. Unfortunately, the rides ridiculously short length and lack of any big thrills detract somewhat from the overall experience. Still, Python turned out to be better than I expected, and was a good starter coaster for the kids.

Just looking at this coaster made me uneasy. This coaster is not kept up very well. The track shakes as it drops down the first drop. I sat in the front row and it was extremely wierd. After the lift hill you bank into the first turn but your not even moving yet. So your falling to your right. The trees around the coaster are to the point where you can pretty much touch them on the ride. This might be an old one, and almost a classic, but its time for this old coaster to go.

This is a very rough coaster. If you dont like getting your head banged around a little then dont ride it. I personally enjoy rough coasters, they are exciting and add to the crazyness of the ride. Its set back very far in the trees, which looks pretty cool. Its very easy to miss.

I usually have a soft spot for these coasters, but this just seems plain bad in a park like this. The walk to the station was longer then the coaster itself, or so it seemed. It was a walk on all-day and I only ever saw 10 people at a time on it maybe. I cant see this being there too much longer and I cant believe its even still there now with far better rides not too far away. The only thing I did like about it was the location and how it was in the trees, though its not a great ride, it looks and fits in there pretty well.

If the layout of Python looks familiar, if youre a Michigan native like me, you probably ridden its twin, the Corkscrew at Michigans Adventure. Its got nostalgia value and for being short, its good. It makes a great first coaster for those who want to go upside down for the first time.

The main plus of the Python is its setting. The corkscrews work well with the beautiful tropical foilage with an almost surreal effect. Its one of the easiest places to get a great up-close shot of a looper in an exceptional setting. Of course if youre not into scenery or dont take a lot of pictures this wont save the ride for you. Python is short. All you really get is a 70 drop, a banked turn, a couple semi-rough corkscrews and thats it. I think its a good ride for beginners and for riders who want to get their feet wet before heading to the big leagues. I dont think that BGT should remove if for that reason. (My dad had fun recounting the THREE drops he felt on this monster) It is from the 70s though so Im not sure what the other Theme Park Critics were expecting. The line can get unreasonably long for such a short ride and it is a tad rough. Overall, its not bad really, but compared to the average steel coaster out there its well below average even if it is a looker. Final Rating - 3.5 (Bad-Approaching Below Average)

The drop is small, the turns are painful, the corkscrews are overdone. Its a corkscrew coaster, theres no real thought put into it. Its not fun, but its not terribly unenjoyable. Just nothing worth waiting for. It gets my generic corkscrew rating of five. I think it only has one train, as well, and therefore, if theres any sort of line, do not bother with it.

Pure crap. Its even worse than the Steamin Demon at the Great Escape. Its wait is too long, its not high enough, it has less airtime on the drop than the Steamin Demon, and the corkscrews are pretty much just as rough. The colors are a bit ugly with all the dirt on it. The only good part is how short it is.

This is by far the worse ride I have ever rode. I dont care that it was built in the late 70s, I dont care that some people think it is a classic, it is horrible. Plain and simple. My husband and I were the only ones even riding the train. I said a short prayer before riding that I would actually surive it. It looks horribly unsafe. Large, bulky over the shoulder harness and only one person working the entire ride. Old paint and loading area. The only thing that made me feel safe, was the fact that if something did happen I could probably survive the first hill fall. The ride felt like it could barely make the two corkscrews and was very painful. It was by far the worst ride I have ever been on. I never thought anything where no other people were in line to bug me or any other riders to annoyingly scream could be this bad. DO NOT RIDE!
