This is the original of the two. The experience is amazing, really feels like riders are flying. With the scents being blown into their faces, or the Imax screen, this attraction cannot be missed.
I really like this ride just make sure to use a fast pass and sit in the front middle row. This is a relaxing ride and it is not only visual. You feel like you are floating with the wind softly blowing and when you fly over the pine trees you smell pine and when you fly over the orange groves you smell the oranges.
Overrated in my opinion, but still a pretty good attraction nonetheless. Lines for this are a nightmare and if it didnt have fastpasses, I would definitely say skip this. Anyway, pray that you get a front row like I did so your experience isnt detracted by the feet of other riders. The images during the ride really were breathtaking, showcasing many of Californias wonders, and the film was pretty well synched with the rides movements, but I honestly rather more extreme movements over the tamer ones this had. Still, the images during the ride mixed in with some decent wit at times makes for a unique and fun attraction.
Soarin was a very good and unique ride. All of the visuals were incredible and the smells and sounds worked perfectly with the film. It was also fairly long too. Only negative is being in the last row because of everyones feet.
I rode this in both the front and rear rows; yea, you can see the feet of other riders in the latter row. Did that cut down on how enjoyable the ride was? No, not really. And how enjoyable was it? Very! The seats raise up over an OMNIMAX screen (like IMAX, but curved) for looks at some spectacular scenery in California: SF Bay, an aircraft carrier off San Diego, the Sierra Nevadas, the desert, and more, finally ending with Disneyland. Ive seen lots of IMAX films, and the resolution on this one was very sharp. (Right when you first see the golden gate bridge, look to the left, you can see Alcatraz off to the far left.) The combination of the seats and film moving works perfectly together, and the piped in smells (especially the pine) is a fine addition. This one is terrific.
Its a okay ride. Its a bet overated. yea its fun and all but still a 3 hour wait?! thats a bit overated
What a fantastic ride all around. It takes the old-school moving-motion-movie ride and really ups the ante. The smells, the air, the feeling of soaring is truly there. Its also one you definitely want to use a fastpass on as it probably gets the longest lines in the park, but for good reason!
Simply the best ride in the world. I cannot wait to get back and ride it again. The whole family loves it and we have never been dissapointed with it.
I am not sure if there was a difference in this one and the Florida one, but they felt identical. I still enjoyed it though, dont get me wrong because I think both are really cool, unique attractions. I just dont have much new to comment on, and I am glad for Fastpass because I still dont get why these rides ALWAYS have the most insane waits in the parks.
Ok at best... Not the ride i was expecting for my long wait, was sat at the back which may have had an effect on my ride experience but overall i was quite dissapointed, and didnt feel all that well after the ride. Epcots version was no better or worse, just a longer queue!
