The photography is great on this attraction. I used the Single Rider line to shorten the wait which was good because I would have been dissappointed with a longer wait. The simulated motions were in sync (although I prefer more extreme movement) but I did not like the random cuts between the scenes, that could have been done better.

I absolutely loved this ride. Its the best simulator I have ever ridden. I rode it twice. Both times I used Fastpass, because the wait time was 70 minutes (Spring Break crowds). I must say, I was blown away by this ride. How did they get that footage? Its a mystery how they did all of those effects, but I dont want to know because it would take away all of the magic of the full experience.

IMO, one of the most over-rated rides of all time, its pretty much an IMAX film in elevated seats, quiet frankly, the effect is awsome the first time, but it wears on you after that, and by ride 5 you get completly sick of it, plus, the only good seat in the house is the front row of the middle section, if you dont get this, I swear consider just walking out, because your experience will be SERIOUSLY distracted by either walls, or hanging feet, or both. Ironically, one if the best aspects of the ride isnt even the ride itself, its the safety video with Patrick Warburton, its laugh out loud funny. As for the ride, as I said, its spectacular the first time, after the effect wears off, you are JUST watching a movie, and quite frankly, I dont think Ill be going on this for quiet some time.

We rode Soarin on October 6th, 2005.
Just after we were lifted into the air, 10 seconds into the ride THE VISUALS SHUT OFF!! The sound and smells continued, so in essence, we were suspended 40 feet in the air inside a PITCH BLACK giant ViewMaster subjected to screeching sounds of birds and booming fighter planes. Talk about freaked out!
What really disturbed me was the fact that there was no one monitoring the fact that we were all suspended for what seemed like an eternity in the dark. The attendants had no idea! Once the ride was over, we all waited in our seats, refusing to leave without an explanation. Eventually, the attendants entered the theatre to usher us out and discovered all of us still seated and very upset. They gave out Fast Passes to ride once the attraction was fixed. I must admit, I took them up on the offer and rode a second time once it was fixed, but the abject fear of the first experience overshadowed what would have otherwise been an exhilirating ride.

Im scared of heights but loved this ride. I felt like I was hand-gliding which in my 43 years I have never done. As you go over the pine trees you can smell the pine, as your feet hover just over the river, I was trying to dip my toes into the water...lol It was fantastic and in the end I went back on it at least a further 10/12 times. We are going back Nov 06 and I cant wait....I totally love it.

This is a ride with potential but fell a little bit short. First of all it is TOO SHORT to appreciate the whole ride. This kind of thing shouldve gone for 10 mins to really immerse to the atmoshpere. Second the the cutting is a bit too fast. It doesnt have to have 15 different view/places, and I hope it just concentrate on fewer scences especially nature beauty. Third they need to figure out how to operate all kinds of effects including smell and wind. Rarely did I found it in full operation. Finally, I like the queue at Epcot better than DCA; it looks like some sort of warehouse. I should give it a 7 but I am a huge fan of IMAX so I rate it rather objectively. TIPS: MAKE SURE you sit at "B1 SECTION" where its ten times better than anywhere else.

FANTASTIC! This ride is great from beginning to end. The air rushing in your face and the excite ment of being up high. The scents were a great addition the the ride too. My advice is to get the row that goes the highest. A great ride that everyone is sure to enjoy.

This ride is absolutely amazing. If you only like hard core thrill rides, then this may not be for you, but if you just enjoy an awesome experience, then this is it.

This ride has preety weak theming in the line (as most rides at DCA do). Once inside the building theres lots of flight posters and really addictive music. You walk through the line a bit more and an amusing movie comes on talking about safety on the ride. The front row on this is definitly the best because in the back rows riders feet block your view. The ride takes you through different scenes in California. In certain parts of the ride you can smell pine scent or orange scent when your over a forest or an orange grove. One problem is that the scents smell alot alike. The ending of this ride is great because you fly over disneyland and see the nightly firework show. I would suggest going as a single rider - it cuts wait time down to almost nothing. Dont miss while in DCA!

I was road-tripping around CA at the time, so seeing the sights I had seen from below a few weeks ago. Avoid the warnings that you see every 5 or so minutes: its not a thrill ride. My mom rode it, and shes afraid of Ferris wheels. While tame, it certainly is one of the best in DCA.
