Unfortunately, from a flat rides stand point, Geauga Lake was really lacking, and El Dorado was no exception to that rule. I will admit that the looks of the ride were great and earn it some points, as I thought the convertible looked awesome and fit the areas theme nicely. Its too bad that it didnt ride as good as it looked. The speed was rather slow considering its size, and therefore it produced very weak sensations in comparison to other rides of the same type. Also, the ride cycle was annoyingly short, which took away from the ride as well. El Dorado just falls into the heap of weak flat rides at Geauga Lake.
Very poor Weber 1001 Nachts. The ride looks great and thats definitely its strong point, as the convertible looks great. However, the movement of this one was very slow and therefore there were no sensations. Also, there was no air time or laterals thanks to the direction the seats faced. The cycle was outrageously short as well.
It was pretty lame. I was told that this was Weber 1001 Nachts.
Somehow I missed this review. APPEARANCE-10 The only real strong point for this ride. The car looks good, its by a diner and it fits the motiff. Also has a classic woodie in the background. CAPACITY-5 Lots of seats, was very slow when SFWOA was running it. RIDE QUALITY-2 Dont like the direction the seats are facing, dont like the restraints, no real pop. FUN-2 A very lacking version of the Falling Star at IB which is one of my favorites. RERIDE-2 Wont say never again but pretty close. OVERALL-21 AVG 4.2 Rating 4 which is very generous since it is an appearance score mostly.
similar to 1001 Nachts at Knoebels, it does not provide airtime as it goes round and round. No intense sensations. The best part is when it stalls at the top of the revolution.
Now themed and painted as a 50s Baby Blue El Dorado Cadillac, the aesthetics of the ride are nice.
Didnt really enjoy this one at all. Good visuals, but the ride itself was forgettable.
Times ridden: 3 ~ Ride experience: 6 ~ Thrill factor 6 ~ Airtime: 7 ~ Evaluation: Ive only been on this ride when it was called Mirage and had a desert theme(pre Six Flags). The ride is fun, but not too thrilling.
Just like a Falling Star. This ride is fun.
I like the feeling (not airtime but its similar) that these rides give. Also, have to love the ride vehicle
This is a fun ride, and is worth a ride when you go to Geauga Lake. I think these type of rides are cool, and should be given a try.
