Cheetah Chase is a steel sit down roller coaster. (Mouse) It is 45' tall, 1,200' long. It is fast, fun, rerideable, it has a large capacity, and a long duration.
its not the tallest wild mouse. but it was pretty fun the sharp turns were thrilling. but it was kind of slow
Cheetah Chase just wasnt my mouse. When I think of Busch Gardens, I think of huge, very-well themed coasters. Then theres Cheetah Chase, which doesnt fit any of them. I have only been on this once and it wasnt because of the line, it was just very lackluster. All of the hairpin turns were untrimmed, but they were just not that thrilling (see Hersheys for a real thrill). The final few drops, while small, were decent and had some good zip to them. It wasnt uncomfortable or anything, but it just was slower and less intense than other mice.
This was just an average mouse. The turns are quick and intense but other than that this ride has very little to offer.
Date Ridden: January of 2007. Times Ridden: 1 To me mouse rides are virtually the same. You have switchbacks, a few little hills, and then normally a rough studden stop at the end. I felt that the cars in the CC were small which led to cramped conditions.....and Im 5-11 160lbs. I cant imagine anyone much bigger than me riding with a partner. If you are any larger, you will need your own car. The brakes were not used too much up top but still this is just your basic mouse coaster with low capacity. Normally I give these rides 6s but since I was cramped this one gets a bump down to a 5. Ride it once for the credit and move on the numerous other outstanding rides at Busch Gardens Africa.
So here we have Cheetah Chase. A ride that I thought was going to really suck, but to my surprise, It was actually pretty decent. The turns, drops, the whole ride its self is just ok..and decent. The one thing that stood out to me and gave me sort of a "thrill" was the head chop effect. It made the coaster a tad bit intense...and when i say "a tad bit" that means almost close to nothing. Overall like I said, it doesnt suck...but it isnt great either. Its one of the few rides at Busch Gardens that the family can enjoy together, so that gives it a good purpose of being there. This Roller Coaster surprisingly has an on ride photo, so if your there with your kids and this is their first roller coaster, this is a good opportunity to get a photo of them on their first ever roller coaster.
why are you all whining?? its a wild mouse coaster what do you expect? for its type of coaster i thought was very good.
Cheetah Chase was a pretty poor coaster in my opinion. First off, the capacity was horrible as this was my longest wait at Busch Gardens, which is pretty pathetic. The ride itself was very toned down as trims ruined any speed and thrill the ride could have provided. The drops were very slow, but the ride was smooth.
Im sorry, but as far as Wild Mouses go, this one is really bad. I felt bored throughout the intire ride. The turns were way to jerky and the small drops were just dull. Not to mention the fact the line was a ridicously 25 minunte wait, while Montu & Kumba were walk ons. I was surprised to see a on ride photo for this ride. Overall, Cheetah chase isnt a good coaster. There ARE better Wild Mouse types out there, even the state fair wild mouse was better then this one. Busch Gardens has some great coasters but this one just sticks out like a soar toe.
Alright. This ride is basically a permanent carnival ride. I honestly find this ride to be scary. I dont like the feeling of falling off the train while doing turns. Not only that, on the lift hill, on the left, there is a guard that blocks people from touching one of the trains. Whats with that? The best part of this ride is the big drop, which really isnt all that much.
