This is one painful roller coaster, because I am a smaller guy it wasnt too brutal on me. The first drop is great and so was the rest of the ride. The one thing I was kinda dissapointed about was the lack of airtime on such a huge coaster. So long and tall yet they designed this coaster more for speed, I think most people would love this coaster to have more airtime.

This had to be the most painful and least fun roller coaster it has ever been my misfortune to ride. The restraint came down during the ride and it was so tight I thought my thighs were going to explode and my legs were going to fall off. This also happened on The Beast, but the beast isnt as rough, fast, or painful as the son. This was actually the only ride in kings island i was waiting for to be over. I thought my heart was going to explode and i was praying the ride wouldnt collapse under me. Perhaps that would of been better, so the pain wouldnt of continued any longer. I totally agree with another review that said that Satan himself designed the helixes on Son of Beast. A very painful experience and I will not ride it again.

I really didnt enjoy it. I didnt really mind the pain, but with all that speed and hight, it doesnt do a lot with it. The loop is the saving greace for this coaster. It was the only time I let go of my death grip on the lap bar. When I was riding it sounded like someone had droped ten bucks of change in the car, but then I realized that sound was the ride itself. I think this ride will tear itself apart sometime soon.

Small car + Rough ride = PAIN
The cars are small. I felt like my knees where in my chest. And this ride i rough people say its is intense. I can only agree with that if you think getting beat up is a good time.

A good coaster is like a bad dream: it scares the hell out of you and dissipates when you awaken with a smile on your face; safe and sound the next morning. Son of Beast succeeded in the former trait and failed miserably in the latter. I awakened to serious whiplash and I sure wasnt smiling. While the coaster is easily the most intense hellish ride in the park, jumping off the roof of my house would have invoked similar thrills and probably would have been easier on my 18-year-old athletic body. If that sounds like your kind of coaster, go for it. But if you aren’t built of steel, don’t say we didn’t warn you.

I have to give this a seven because it does have a loop. It is a little ruff, but hey it is a woody. Its big and fast so I do like this ride. PKI is a great park and is always in proving.

Some time us coaster enthusiasts can be a little too whiny. We often complain that certain woodies are too smooth, such as Lightning Racer at Hersheypark or Colossos at Heide Park, but we can also contradict ourselves by complaining about rough woodies like SoB or Rattler at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. Yes, SoB has given me my fair share of ass beatings, but Ill be damned if those werent the best ass kickings Ive ever had in my life! In todays day and age of perfectly designed coasters that are all butter smooth, its nice to have a new wooden roller coaster that is alive and you can feel the soul of this ride. Im not sure if some of you thought you were getting into a nice stroll through the park when you got in line for this ride but I believe Son of Beast lives up to its name. Lack of reridability keeps this from being a 10.

Its bigger, its faster and it goes upside down so why isnt it better than the original? Because the original is longer and goes through the woods and lives up to the name of Beast when riding it after dark. Still, this is an awesome woody and wouldve been the undisputed king if it were longer and went through the woods in the dark.

What are we, a bunch of wimps?!?!?!? Its an awesome ride, providing that your lap bars arent too tight. Anyone who has ridden woodies know that they are rough. It was extremely fast and unlike anything Ive been on. If you wanna spend your time on the soft, cushioned, smooth boring steel rollercoasters its fine with me---less line for SoB!!!!

This coaster cause me to get chest pains and I am only 18. It had some good speed and some heavy Gs but, the way the trains are designed you cant fit in them if you are about 62" or taller. The lap bars are the most uncomfortable things I have ever seen. This was probably one of the worst planned out coasters of all time. It was a waste of time to go to PKI for this ride because it sucked.
