It was a fun variation of the teacups ride but it is somewhat lame compared to the other great rides near it.
It was a fun spinning ride. It dosent beat the teacups because there are only two spinning axis, but still a fun(and fast) spinning ride.
The Twister at Lake Compounce is a unique idea for a spin-and-puke ride. However, I just am not a big fan of these kinds of rides. Wisdom Rides installed this ride at Lake Compounce, in 2000. The multi-colored cars are sleek, and each car holds 4 people. Lines usually arent longer than 10 minutes long, and the ride is very fun. However, the ride can take a while to load which is disappointing. Twister can hold up to 32 people at a time, but the ride is rarely full because groups of 2 or 3 take up a whole car sometimes. The cars are roomy, and open. The restraints are very comfortable, secure. I enjoy how the cars are open-aired enhancing the ride experience. Once the ride begins, the ride spins around and around. Then, the ride tilts at a 20 degree angle, making the ride get higher off the ground. Also, riders can spin the car all they want with the wheel in the center of the vehicle. As a result, this ride gets you very dizzy, and sometimes sick. Unfortunately, Twister is difficult to spin sometimes and maintain the spinning throughout the entire ride. You get a decent cycle. Overall, the Twister is a nice flat ride, and I enjoyed it. This is a great ride for anyone with a strong stomach. Also, this is a great ride for anyone who enjoys spinning rides.
WAY TOO MUCH SPINNING!!! Despite my desperate pleas my friends kept spinning the darn thing faster and faster, and when it finally stopped I was so dizzy I mustve looked like a drunk stumbling around the park for the next five minutes. Its a wonder I didnt have a hangover the next day. I will never EVER be a fan of these things, Rotors, Roundups, or any other true spin-and-barfs. The scrambler this thing replaced was WAY more fun.
Man, I have never spun so fast, great movement of the cars. Its nothing special, but with the right group of friends, its a blast.
Better suited as a traveling carnival ride, this varient on the standard tea-cup ride lacks the scale you expect at a theme park.
I had never seen one of these before and thought it unique (til I saw the same ride the next day at Keansburg). However I did really enjoy the ride and was spinning it like a mad man. I actually strained a muscle in my rib cage, but didnt hold it against the ride in my rating, just because I was an idiot. I also stumbled when I got out and banged my knee on the side of the car because I was so dizzy.
It just a carnival ride. I wish something more unique would have stood in its place. Its still an ok ride though.
There never seems to be a wait for this one (which is definitely a good thing), but its not very fun either, I dont think. Flying in the air like you do on this isnt very fun and neither is spinning around, really. But I usually do it at least once or twice while Im there...for kicks.
The ride is interesting. you can spin the cars lik on a teacup ride, but the cars fly out words as the ride turns. an OK ride gut not to interesting if you arent willing to spin it. or its wet (like in my case) can keep it from working right.
