The areas the train passed were rather boring, and it was murderously slow, but still a bit of a pleasant way to rest.

This ride is pretty useless but the scenery is great. It shows the desolate side of the park but it is still beautiful to look at. a must ride if you do not like thrilling rides.

Lake Compounces C.P. Huntington Train multitasks as it provides great views and good means of transportation. With two stations, one just to the left of the main entrance and one located at the back left corner of the park, the Lake Train is an excellent way to get around the park. Due to the many rows on the train, the Lake Train has a very good capacity, which keeps the lines minimal. Loading takes quite a while on the Lake Train, but thats so that they can fill the entire train up and instead not the operators faults. Once the ride began, I was treated to some marvelous views of the lake. On the other side were some nice plants and trees, which provided some very good shade. The Lake Train was a very relaxing ride that combined great views with a good mean of transportation. When I rode the Lake Train, it was very slow because they were borrowing Story Lands train and they were trying to take extra good care of it. Still, the ride would have been just as good, if not better with their own train. Overall, an excellent train ride that easily is the best that I have been on at an amusement park. Anyone who enjoys leisurely train rides or who want a great transportation ride definitely shouldnt miss the Lake Train.

I found it to be pretty standard though it offers a fantastic view of the lake. A nice way to relax, but not a lot of interaction with the actual park. Our informational tour op was very sarcastic, which I love so I will give her an extra point.

This is acutally a good train ride. The only annoying thing is that it takes a while to load and get to the opposite station, so if youre counting on it to get across the park you might have to wait a little bit. If you can wait its certainly worth riding. Its relaxing and travels remarkably close to the shore of the beautiful lake. Some great pictures of Boulder Dash can be taken if you can squeeze them between the trees on the shore. Make sure to get a picture of BD with the reflection of its train on the lake. On a nice day, this train ride can actually be fun.

Nice little train ride, especially during October when they turn the south end of the park into a little ghost town and the ride op tells ghost stories.

This is a neat little diversion from the business of the park, and well worth a ride. You can get some great photos of Boulder Dash and the park while riding, and the lake is lovely. The train isnt of the vintage category, but still a treat.

A nice relaxing ride which gives your feet some rest. The conductor pointed out interesting sights as we rolled along, a family of large turtles basking on the rocks, various birds, and large Sunfish guarding their eggs in the shallow water of the lake not far from the tracks. The engineer actually stopped the train several times so that the passengers could take pictures. A nice touch which gave the ride a "destination" rather than just going in a big circle. The train itself is pretty nice... to appeal to train buffs a bit more, a real steam engine would be a plus rather than the gas "knock-offs". But all in all this ride is a nice attraction at this park.

Pretty standard small gage train ride. New replica train cars. No real steam locomotive. Very good views of the lake. Gets an extra point because they do talk to you on the way giving historical facts about the park.

A standard train the park is too empty on one side making this a bit boring. This ride isnt exciting and unless you have a corpriate picnic and need to get there.
