My total is 138, including 101 steel, 37 woodies and only 4 coasters that I had no business going on (kiddie coasters!)

On a side note Christina now sits at 72 (56/16)

Let's see... coaster count isn't really that important to me.

Of course, that is coming from someone that is well below 100 Spoken like a true loser.

Oh c'mon give yourself more credit. Let's see, when I joined the site my count was below 10. I picked up #10 at Astroworld four years ago and heck even as recently as two years ago I was below 40 and last year I finished around 60. You'll have that "big year" soon enough (I'm sensing next year )

^good job Joe I remember you writing that you were hoping to crack 100 this summer and you blew that number out of the water.

I didn't break 100 until early 2004 (I think)

Don't laugh ya'll, but I've been on 56 coasters so far as of the end of 2005. That means my coaster count has almost been doubled. B/f 2005, I've been on 29 coasters.

RCGenius, don't worry, we don't laugh around here. (well, not about coaster counts or anything). You are about 16 right? I had about 20 credits when I turned 16. Heck, at the beginning of last year Larrygator was under 100 I think most of us understand limitations for most kids. Not all of us can be 15 year olds who have been on 450 coasters...

I am at 171 right now and skipped quite a few small ones this summer. (riverview, right larry) I will definately jump over 200 after next years UK trip.

I was at 32 when I made my first trip to Indiana Beach which refound my love of parks.

Hey, Riverview was less out of the way than double backing to Little A-Merrick-A. I only had to drive the car about 100 yards.

We made that drive to little a merrick a wow those are two places that both suck big time, but at least Riverview was closer so i give you credit there.

You did ride this coaster, didn't you. Official credit whores

I don't even really want to count clones, but I figured they can be quite different so I still do.

Thanks Christina breaking 100 and me at 250 (meaning ~100-10 new coasters for me in 2005) is next year's goal. It will probably be close for both of us, even though I don't think she cares how many she's been on

<<-- Will whore the UK parks, I mean, how often will I be over there? Besides, everyone else will be so I guess it would be better than sitting on a bench

I did not ride that L'il Shaver, but coaster05 did! I "generally" have to be egged on to ride the kiddie coasters.

Yep I rode the shaver cause I had an all day pass. It was hysterical. I will usually whore myself if I am in the park, but not if I am paying per ride or like Riverview where there was nothing I wanted.

As far as UK I am going to coaster whore so bad I will probably get VD.

Geeze, I'm sorry, but reading all of this is really depressing How could you whore yourself like that. I'm sorry, but that is just pathetic. Pretty sad, but, hey, I guess as long as you have fun because that is what riding is all about. Come on though dude

You should ride Little Laser. If its anything like its daddy I bet its a blast! Oh wait.. you're too big too

Looking back again, I can't even find a single coaster that I had no real reason to ride. Canyon Blaster is at my homepark so I had to give it a shot, I rode Ridgeline Racer when I was a tiny tot, Wacky Worm because my mom wanted ro ride and that's a rarity, and I just wanted to try one of those mini SLCs which is why I consider Reptar to be ok. If I ride mini SLCs at other parks or other kiddie coasters, then yeah, I'm doing it for the credit.

In all honesty, I'd say riding Batman at MM and G-Adv, as well as Mind Eraser @ SFNE and the boomerangs at PCW and Hershey are as much or more credit-whore rides than any of the kiddie coasters I've been on (again, I kinda don't want to count clones )

I don't know. I used to be against the clone thing (well, I stil kind of am) but as far as counting them as separate coasters, I kind of can see how you can. Just because they are the same design doesn't mean that they are completely different coasters due to other aspects and exponents. Just from riding Mind Eraser on Saturday (which I have to admit kind of was like credit whoring because I knew that the ride was going to suck) I can tell that it was a totally different experience than the one up in New England, besides the pain. I don't know, I can just see how those rides are completely different. I mean come on, just look at rides like Medusa at Great Adventure and Scream!.

Yeah I know, I read that before. I was just putting in my thoughts on the matter too.

All of the whoring talk kind of makes me feel like I'm out of the loop. I think I might get a ride on the Dragon Coaster at Dorney next weekend. Wait, nah. I let you guys do what you do and I'll just stick to what I do

Oh ok just wanted to make sure you understood my thoughts

I don't think I really "whore it up" either, I'll leave that to Larry who said he would have ditched me if he didn't have the Cheetah Chase credit

^that's not fair, I like wild mice.

I think there are actually about 20 kiddie/family coasters that I have skipped in parks over the years. I could have even ridden Gemini Jr. with my niece at CP in May but passed and just watched her ride 3 times. Even last year at SFMM the only coasters I didn't get on were Flashback (really?) and Colossus. I noticed Colossus running as soon as I got back to my rental car, I had plenty of time to run back to the park and get a ride in but I didn't.

Back to the question about how our coaster counts have progressed this year, I'm up to 262. Added almost 40 this year which is more than I anticipated. I hope to hit 300 next year but that's going to be tough.

I have this opinion if it is fun, then its not really whoring. Clones don't bother me at all and I enjoy seeing my count grow, but I have also skipped a lot of rides so, I am not a true whore or I would ride them all. Heck I did not even do the Dragon at Canobie with an all day pass, and that must be good since MRC gave it a 9 or 10 and we all know how tough it is for him to score high at his home park.

I must be pretty prudent then. I skip most clones including boomerangs and wild mouse coasters and def. no kiddies. If I'm at a park on a busy day it's just not worth the wait to ride something I've already ridden. I haven't really went to any parks not on the East Coast but plan to forge west next year. Obviously I will crack 100 with the next new park I visit. Has anyone tried to lineup an interesting coaster for their 100th or 200th coasters??

I've never been to CP, PKI, Coney Island, Dollywood, even Leap the Dips at Lakemont would be a cool one since it's the oldest operating coaster. Any ideas?

Well, if one of those parks end up being I have a few suggestions and they all seem to be really obvious:

PKI - The Beast
Coney Island - Cyclone
Dollywood - Thunderhead

I would go with the Cyclone
Coney Island

I do too, for the most part. I skipped the Boomerang at The Lake since the line was too long for a boomerang in my opinion (it was their busiest day ever, just to give you an idea) and we did the same at SFNE, skipping both woodies and their boomerange on the advice of Larry. We did, however, ride the SLC, but I think a lot of that had to do with it being a really short line (well, it was supposed to be short, didn't end up quite that way). As far as mice go, I try to ride at least one from different manufacturers (Zamperla, Reverchon, L&T) just to get a taste of each

I lined up Great Escpae as my 100th and then realized after that it really wasn't my 100th. I lined up Montu as my 200th and then realized it wasn't really my 200th. I'll probably not bother when it comes to 300. By the way I like your historic coaster potential for your 100th
