As of May 20th, 2007, Cheetah is very rough!! The first drop is amazing; however, the rest of the ride is very painful. Perhaps new trains could reduce the roughness, but for now Cheetah is better to look at than to ride.
Im rewriting my review a year and a couple more rides later. What I remember as a decent coaster is now near the bottom of my list. The roughness is barely tolerable, if you could even consider it tolerable. It really is the long lost brother of the now defunct Hurricane at the Pavilion. The air on the first jaunt out is ok, but once this thing starts to turn, it becomes a nightmare. Id actually say it may be the roughest ride I have ever been on that other than Psyclone. Im not sure I could bring myself to ride it again, but then again, I was stupid enough to do so with the Hurricane several times...
It is my opinion that the cheetah is the best ride at the park. The first time I rode the coaster I was extremely pumped up. I rode it several times in a row. I couldn"t get enough of the ride. My family goes to the park every Saturday. Cant get enough.
I love this coaster. I was worried about it because it was running Gerstlauer trains (my first experience with these a few days earlier at Myrtle Beach Pavilion on Hurricane was a bit rough), but there was no problem on Cheetah. Great classic out and back layout with a fun figure 8 finish makes this a great coaster. I wont even take points away for being stuck at the top of the lift hill for 15 minutes (kind of eerie being the only person on the train... but where else can you be stuck on the lift and watch the giraffs below you?) Great air and great speed too.
I dont see why this ride is getting such a great review! I didnt like it that much! It was VERY VERY rough! So rough that it hurt worse than any other woodie Ive ever been on! The only thing that makes me give it a five is the AWSOME air time!
Crazy and fast like its name.
I loved Cheetah. This coaster provided alot of airtime and the two turn arounds both provided floating latteral airtime. The second speed hill floats you and you think you are going to loose your head for sure on the supports. Great ride
The layout of the ride is perfect with the great variety of forces and elements you go through on the ride, but it is extremely rough and bumpy to the point that its not a very enjoyable ride. I was really looking forward to this since its from CCI, but it needs some TLC and the park should realize wooden coasters need upkeep. The staff was very friendly and the rest of the park is well kept, but major retracking needs to be done and thats a surprise since it is only one year old. Some of the hills very too jerky and bottoming out was extremely shaky in areas. Ill try it again next time, but for now its not too great. There is a lot of airtime, but I wish the ride was a lot better.
This is my home park and I will admit, the first time I rode this, a definate 10. But recently the figure 8 has sustained lots of warping from the major Gs the coaster pulls in it and it has become extremely shaky and rough. That is the ONLY reason I give it an 8. Other than that, it is one of the best woodies Ive been on. The theming could be a little better too. And a tip, after noon, the line for Cheetah gets really really long on weekends. Ride it as soon as you can!
This ride is VERY exciting!I loved it from the bottom of the lift until we hit the brakes.Definatly a ton of Air-time especially on the first drop.Thats why I give it a 10
