This is my favorite ride here at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, I thought the launch was quite intense and you get really good hanging on the first and last twisting spike is awesome and you get a really good whip on the full twist. V2 Vertical Velocity is the best ride here in my opinion.
I give it a plus for being different than the other Intamin impulse coasters. I quite frankly enjoyed the combination of the spiral non-spike that left you hanging upside down (better in the front of train) along with the vertical spike. A plus for variety.
V2 is a very strange ride. The launch up the first spike is underwhelming, and the second altered spike is just plain bizarre. The hanging sensation isnt all that great either. Even though I have alot of negative things to say about this ride, I still enjoyed it. I thought it was entertaining, and quite fun. Strange.
I enjoyed this ride, and when I went to SFMW for the first time, I went with a friend who had motion sickness, but he didnt get it on this ride. And that doesnt mean that this is a bad ride, it is just really smooth. Plus, it has a huge reride factor, I think we rode the ride at least 5 times that day.
Wow, my first Intamin spiral impulse coaster, and what a fun experience at that. The launch was very fun, and the forward tower was an extremely unique experience. I havent been on the vertical spiraling impulse coasters yet, so I cant compare them, but I thought the corkscrew-looking twist while at about a 45-degree angle was incredibly entertaining. During the first pass the coaster only makes it to about mid-way through the spiral, so if you are in one of the middle seats you get a neat, sort of hanging upside-down sensation. The second pass continues all the way through this element, so you get a good flip both forward and backward. There is yet a third and final shot forward that also goes about as far as the first did, once again suspending many riders in a rather unusual position. And lets not forget the back tower. This was straight up and down. Unlike some impulse coasters where I know there is a brief moment when the brakes grab the train to a stop, this one didnt have that, but I dont care. What a perfect sensation of going straight up backwards and straight down forwards. Much like the Deja Vu coasters, this, to me, is one of the greatest feelings a coaster can provide. I think V2 Vertical Velocity is a real winner!
the launch sucks, but the rest of the ride is pretty fun, some REALLY intense hang time.
So much fun. Id give it a ten if the line didnt take so long.
SUPER RIDE! the lack of vertical-ness just sets it apart from the others!
I rode the modified version, and after riding Wicked Twister, I liked this better. I liked hanging upside down. The best place to sit if you want the maximum amount of hang time is about the 4th row from the front.
Different then the rest due to they change needed to it a few years ago. Run, makes a loud noise to excited folks.
