This attraction is a throwback to the classic board front rides. It's special in the sense that there aren't that many left, however there are definitely better attractions in the park. Unless easily sickened, check out this attraction. It rarely has a line!
The Golden Zephyr is, in all honesty, a pretty dull ride. The swinging feels completely forceless, and it does not reach any kind of impressive height or angle. That being said, the Zephyr does have a few things going for it. First, it is a very rare throwback-to-the-old-days type of ride. Second, it looks quite nice (of course, the entire Paradise Pier section of the park is very photogenic). Finally, though the ride is not thrilling at all, it is sort of neat to swing out over the water and over the people standing on the pier. It seems uncertain at this point what will happen to this ride during the make-over of California Adventure. I have heard that it may stay because it is unique, but I have also heard that it may be removed to simply make room for a projection tower for the new lagoon show. If the ride does remain, I would hope that the Golden Zephyr will at least be painted gold.
Kudos to Disney for erecting such a classic ride that just suddenly disappeared at almost every park many years ago. This ride really captures the feel of traditional parks. Disney did a great job with the rides looks and it really looks like a classic version even though it was only a few years old when I rode it. Now dont go on expecting a thrill ride, but this ride is a really tame ride lacking sensations. That being said, it really could be ridden by anyone in the family. The views swinging out over the lake are great and its just an experience that other rides out there cant match. At night the ride is even better with all the lights around the park. Disney didnt give the longest cycle though, but lines were pretty short so I could just run back in line if I wanted to.
the parks worst follie, rarely RARELY open, and when it is its as boring as it is closed.
Its fun. Dont expect much. Its just a swing type ride. Spinning over the lake was pretty cool at night. It was a very good way to cool off. I was a little upset about the overall speed of the ride... It barely left the platform. I wouldnt even bother to ride this if theres a wait.
A nice calm, relaxing ride. You can barely find these rides anymore so it has a very historical side. Nice for small kids and after big lunches. If you ride at nice the view of the lake is very nice. Dont expect too much on this ride. It is very primative.
You spin in a rocket over a lake. Good looking, but pointless. Theres no thrill at all, Dumbo is more fun. DCA filler, basically.
I just cant believe that its rated a 5.92!!! I mean, it doesnt even deserve a 5! Its slow, and doesnt even go a foot off of the platform! However, it is good for little kids, I imagine.
Alright ride... Kind of pointless
Good for lil kids
I thought this ride was realy cool because they are fun and they are very rare.I kinda got dizzy though.
