This park owns the dubious honor of being home to the worst Vekoma SLC and Boomerang. While the Bat features the awesome first drop I have come to know and love from boomerangs, the rest of the course is littered with headbanging, especially during the cobra roll. On busier days, I can also see this boasting an incredibly long line thanks to its low capacity combined with its slow loading.
The Bat is Wonderlands offering of the common Boomerang coaster. It plunges down a moderate drop, through the loading station, and into a series of tight inversions. I have always felt the drop could be a bit bigger, as it tends to feel as though it's struggling through the inversions, making it rougher than necessary. This becomes especially prominent when it does the course in reverse. The lines are usually long, as the design only allows for a single train at a time, and I personally feel the wait is a poor investment for the ride experience. The Bat is a product of its time, but remains a popular attraction, and is worth riding once if the lines are reasonable. Vekoma Boomerangs are one of the more commonplace coaster designs found at amusement parks the world over. Wonderlands installment doesn't bring anything unique to the table, and more experienced thrill seekers might consider skipping this ride, in favor of the parks better thrill attractions.
I. Hate. Boomerangs. Honestly, going backwards is NOT s thrill. It is an excuse to build less coaster.
I honestly went on just for the credit (one of the rare times I do so) and I came off even more disappointed than usual in this boomerang. I think I have finally found the worst boomerang out there in this one. As usual the two drops are actually pretty good, but other than that the ride consists of pain, pain, more pain, and you guessed it, more pain! The inversions were very rough on this one and I came off with quite a headache. If you are really desperate for a credit, try this, but just be prepared with advil afterwards.
Not worth the wait if youve been on one before. The first drop was actually pretty good on this boomerang and sudden unlike on others, but the rest of the ride was rough. Also, the forces seemed weaker on this one when going backwards.
I am going to forgo my usually system of coaster rating because I have nothing else to say about traditional boomerangs. There was nothing memorable either good or bad about this coaster, and for me it was just another credit.
A fairly standard boomerang coaster and I dont really like this style of coaster, too much, so it gets an average rating of 5.
I loved this boomerang the drop is great its barely rough and when you go backwards it feels like your reversing time or something its great! The lines may be long but theyre totally worth the wait..10in my books...definitely in my top three
I didnt like this boomerang at all. As with all boomerangs, the line is pretty long because of the slow loading, so I should have skipped it. The ride was pretty rough and lacks anything to differentiate itself from others. Nothing special here, just another mediocre Wonderland coaster.
The Bat is a steel sit down roller coaster. Boomerang with 6 inversions. The coaster is 120 ft. tall and reaches a speed of about 50 mph. It goes up a tower, cobra roll, loop, then backwards through it all again. It is 876' long. It is fast, fun, rerideable, it has a large capacity, and a long duration.
