After the opening of Pilgrims Plunge, Frightful Falls has frequently been overlooked, although it shoudn't be. It's one of the oldest remaining original rides at Holiday World, but still one of the best. As you load into the log boats, you are staring into a pitch black tunnel. after passing through this tunnel, you float past some humurous tombstones and take a left U turn where you start to climb the small but powerful lift hill, right in the shadow of the Legends lift hill, and you race to the bottom while an onride photo is taken and you ride back to the station. although its not a really popular attraction, it's definately worth a ride or two.
one of my favorite things about this ride is not the ride itself but its queue. the way you wander down into the concrete tunnels makes it look like the ride will be intense. the ride itself is decent but people who show critism to this ride must have forgotton that this ride was built in 1984. this must have been a great ride back in the 80's as it is now
This is one of a few missed opportunities for holiday world in my opinion. In the halloween section this log flume had a really good opportunity to stand out and be unique amongst similiar rides at other parks. Yet they do very little with the actual halloween theming. You go through a dark tunnel with some themed music playing. Than your back outside and the only other theming is the tombstones. The drop itself is pretty good. But I just wish that they had done more to make this flume a little unique. Though I say the same thing about most other log flumes I have ridden.
A fun, if short, log flume. The tunnel is cool, but the lack of any real theming hurts it somewhat, as well as the aforementioned length (but hey, they can't all be as long as Dudley

). Still a fun ride that served its purpose for me on a hot day.
Good Hopkins log flume. The theming during the course was certainly a nice touch and I loved how the ride hugged the ground for the most part. I found the drop to be good, but not great since it wasnt overly tall and fast, and I got fairly wet from the splash at the end.
This is a classic ride that all of you haters need to learn that this ride is not in the attention to be scary or anything. This is a ride where the whole family can ride and cool of during a hot sunny day. Or, you can go and get wetter on a rainy day. But this ride is a very cool family ride!
I love log flumes so on my list this would be 16.I rode it twice.
An average log flume that is saved by the eerie and DARK tunnel at the beginning.
Im not sure if they changed this ride since the time others have reviewed but I found this very weak. There is an excellent opportunity to created theming in the tuneel but there is none. There is a weak cemetery scene that could have been done better or expanded (tombstones are hard to read). The splash at the bottom of the hill is a decent size but none of the water hits the riders, which might be a good thing because the water was a funky brown color.
This is an okay ride. I am impressed on the overall design and concept of the ride. I really did not care for the theming, as cheesy some might call it. The tunnel at the beginning is a nice little effect. The drop is nice too. It is also neat how the Legend goes over the drop.
