The intentions were great. Unfortunately the excellent theming does not make up for the poor quality blasters.

this is a very fun attraction for a family ride. The storyline takes you back to the 1600s where a town has to round up turkeys for thanksgiving. basically you have a "turkey caller" which you use to shoot red spots on the walls to score points. at the end of the ride there is a points chart which will tell you what level of turkey hunter you are. overall a nice family friendly ride which anyone can enjoy.

Shooter rides are becoming pretty common at most every park by now. Gobbler getaway wins the award for most.........well.....bizarre. In this ride you are actually calling turkeys not shooting them. Which seems to be a common misconception. The turkey callers are very difficult to know which way to aim. In fact the ride op had to tell me I was aiming the wrong way before i left. Stupid me. The ride itself is very clean and in good shape. While I enjoyed this ride I liked scooby doo and den of thieves more. It was good but just not an elite shooter in my opinion.

A great ride for families and individuals alike. The theme is great, and creates a very neat atmosphere (I almost felt like it was fall already, even though it was 85 degrees outside!), and the turkey caller was well-calibrated (i.e. easy and fair to aim/score). I also liked the "non-violent" theme - far from necessary, it was a nice decision by the manufacturer and HW to perpetuate their family theme. Great ride. :thumbsup:

Im giving this a 10 because, for me, this is the best shooter ride Ive been on. Ive been on multiple Sally shooters, Buzz Lightyear, MIB, Hersheys, among others. It appeals to me because of the strong cheesy visual humor and wacky plotline. Cheesy dark rides are a weakness of mine and Gobbler Getaway plays that part to a tee.

Appearence- Very well done dark ride with alot of theming inside. Capacity-Air conditioned waitng area that goes very quickly. Quality-One of the better non coaster attractions at HW, Runs smooth and has alot of targets to shoot at. Fun-Fun ride that I would ride again just to see the theming. Rerideable if the line isnt long.

This is a fun and unique dark ride I love it and think it is visually nice as well!

I got in three rides on this and although I enjoyed it, I was hoping for more. APPEARANCE-6 The building is clean and sharp, but like most the theming at HW it lacks any depth. Too many flat cut outs on the inside for my liking. However my number 1 complaint about this ride is the lack of humor. This could have some really funny scenes, but they are just not there. CAPACITY-7 An airconditioned waiting room definately helps, but the room is dull. I may have caught this ride before it was complete, so that could have changed. RIDE QUALITY-8 Runs smooth and there are plenty of targets to shoot at. guns seeme to be pretty accurate. FUN-7 There are so many of these type of rides that the uniqueness is really going down. Almost every park in the UK had them also. RERIDE-6 I would rank this pretty high in a park, that has very little outside of their coasters, but I could skip it also and not be upset. OVERALL-34 AVG-6.8 I will go 7 since it is still a top 7 attraction at this park. I just feel it could have been so much more.

Good for an interactive Dark Ride.... but I still prefer the old fashioned (if cheesey) classic dark rides meant to surprise and scare you.
