Date Ridden: January of 2008 Times Ridden: 2 Mouse rides to me (spinning or not) are basically all 6s. It is very rare that I come upon one that ranks much more than that. I enjoy them but they are all so similar that I find it hard to rank one much higher than another. That being said, this is a fun ride. We got tons of spinning since there were only two of us in the car and we rode on the same side which placed all the weight together. Once the cars unlocked, we spun non-stop for vitually the entire ride which was fun. Other than that, it is a basic spinning mouse. If the weight distribution had been equal Im not sure if it would have spun more or not. Regardless, I have had fun on it during both my visits to Cypress Gardens and will probably always ride it once whenever I return. A solid 6.
Galaxy Spin was the best Zamperla mouse Ive been on. The spinning was incredible as my car spun throughout the ride and the drops as always were good and zippy, but there still was a little roughness in a few of the turns.
What can I say? It was a standard mouse and it was fun.
Best part were the drops. I think they could have got a better choice, but not bad for a spinning mouse coaster.
I am going to bypass my normal coaster rating system because of the uniqueness of my experience. I hate these types of rides. I am not a big fan at all of spinning and since they almost all have the same layout I just dont look forward to them at all. that being said we all know I am a coaster whore, so my wife and one other person went off to ride this ride. Now as Larry will tell you I would prefer no spins at all and I usually get thru one of these rides with about 5 rotations total. No joke after we start spinning we made 10 complete rotations before the first curve. That was actually the slowest we went for the rest of the ride. I have no idea how I didnt throw up and I only wished someone would have filmed it because Larry would have been so jealous. I now figure I am even for all the spinning coaster credits I got without spinning. All this being said I must rate this pretty high because it gave the most insane ride I have ever been on for this type of ride and I would actually roll the dice and try it again just to see if I could be that unlucky twice.
My second Zamperla Twister coaster, and exactly like the one at Martins. Fun with some good, naseauting spinning and some fun but nothing to write home about. Or, reride, if you become dizzy easily like myself. Probably a "once a trip" sort of ride.
In my opinion, this was a bad choice for Cypress Gardens to get as a carnival roller coaster. Ive seen much better rides than this, but for what it is, its an okay ride. Its better than a traditional Wild Mouse where you dont spin, but the spinning didnt work as well as I was expecting. The first half of the ride where you just went back and forth and down the hills was all facing fowards. Half way through the ride, the cars unlocked, but didnt really spin. The car turned some, but wasnt a constant spin like I was expecting. Still fun though, and isnt the worst coaster at Cypress Gardens...
