I kind of like Spongebob Squarepants the cartoon, Ill admit that. So naturally I enjoy the 3D sort of simulator ride. Actually I would like it even if I didnt like the cartoon. Basically this is a 3D movie with moving sets seats; I cant really call it a full fledged simulator however, more like an enhanced movie theatre...yeah thats it. The loud sounds and movments might be scary to little kids, as evident by the numerous wails and crying fits heard between breaks in dialouge. The 3D really adds to this ride with all the cheesy effects a Spongebob cartoon could employ. One thing I absolutely loathe about this ride is the wait. You get to wait in the old Mach 1 Adventure/Dino Island hanger area thats devoid of themeing and stuffy. The wait is also long as heck even on a slow day. Other than that, the ride is great fun and I recommend it as a nice diversion from the coasters. Spongebob 3D is certainly better than the past two movie installations.

i really like this ride but the line is very long even with the flash pass. i love spongebob. the storyline was retarded but so is spongebob so it didnt matter. i love the seats moving and the 3-d effects. good ride even if you dont lie spongebob.

Whats the antithesis of "theming"? Whatever it is, this ride has it. Downright pathetic in that respect. The ride itself is not without charm - hey, Spongebob is fun. (Plus he pisses off religious fanatics.) The ride didnt fully capture the manic fun of the tv show, but it had some of it, and in parts it moved nicely (like when you first board the bicycle). But the audio was hinky, the 3-D minimal. Six Flags is nowhere near Disney + Universal for this kind of ride. Worth it if the line isnt long.

I have to admit it up front- Im a Spongebob freak. Love the show. So, I really couldnt pass this one up. No real outside theming to speak of. I had never been in a simulator quite like this one. Most had been in the same vein as Body Wars and Star Tours. I found the setup quite interesting. The ride was a bit rough, but not unexpectedly so. My one real criticism is that it seemed to bounce and move many times even when the action on the screen didnt call for it. I also noticed quite a bit of graininess and spots in the film. Guess with age thats to be expected.

I love spongebob, but I didnt get this ride. I would love Dino Island to come back.

This wasnt overly bad. It was definately pretty cool. I personally like Sponge Bob, but Im not one of those people that are obsessed with it, it just doesnt annoy me. The ride was ok. I can basically sum it up as cheap I-MAX with moving chairs. Nothing special. The wait wasnt that bad either. I was only waiting for about 10 minutes. The storyline was good and easy to follow. A good ride for kids, but if they dont want the motion they can just go into the other room without the motion. There was a little kid that couldnt handle the moves and was scared. He was probably only about 3 years old, so it might not be a good thing for the really little ones. Aside from the movie; the themeing. WOW! It was incredible! In the queue they had wooden crates painted yellow with brown circles on them, a paper palm tree hung up on the wall and exit signs that were shaped like like preservers. Talk about amazing. I dont think that I could have asked for anything more or they could have spent anything more. (If you could hear my voice, you would hear the immense amount of sarcasum in my voice). The themeing was horrible. You wait in line in a fake aircraft hanger with nothing around you that is relevant to the ride. The hanger works with what is around in the area (the Parachute ride and other things) but, man. And the bubbles at the end of the show. They only come out in little spurts on one side of the room. Pitiful. However, it was kind of fun and is a bit of a change from coasters.

Nothing comapred to the ride at Universal, but it is a great ride compared to the previous ones in the building. Funny, and suprising it is also at a good lenght. Though, sometimes the ride is not worth and 1 hour wait in line. The decor also stinks

I dont know what all the fuss is about. Yeah its fun, and funny for that matter.. but the wait is always so long, and for what? Just to see spongebob in 3D and sit in a moving chair.

I loved this movie and thought it one of the best 3D movies I have seen. Its very funny and all around very enjoyable even if youve never seen SpongeBob before. Though the theming might be bad, its not about the theme, its about the movie. I consider this to be one of the best attractions in the park
