A pretty carousel, although the rounding board and other details are pretty monotonous due to the ubiquitous dark red color. The outer row of animals has a good look and good variety, but the horses on inner rows do look too much the same. A reasonable speed and cycle.

APPEARANCE: Though a modern carousel, Quassys is a beauty. Quassy houses this Chance carousel in an old, classic pavilion that really adds to the rides atmosphere and makes the ride feel older than it really is. Also, Quassy maintains this carousel very well. However, like with most modern carousels, this one has plexiglass horses and lacks a band organ (instead Quassy has speakers playing music during the ride).

WAIT TIME: Walk On- Carousels at any park are almost always walk ons, even at large parks. At Quassy, that means that this carousel is always a walk on and thats true thanks to its very high capacity. Loading wasnt the fastest, but I have seen worse.

RIDE: The rides movement was very good and the cycle was very good too, as it lasted around 3 minutes.

FINAL VERDICT: This is a beautiful carousel and arguably the best modern one I have been on. Anyone who enjoys carousels shouldnt even consider skipping this at Quassy.

Its big, in good condition, and while the animals on the outside row are not bad looking, the inner rows of horses are all done in that monotonous carny style. Plus theyre all made of fiberglass. In a park as old as Quassy, an antique woodie (or even a new woodie) would be much more appropriate. Quassy had one too, until about 20 years ago. I wonder what happened to it.

A large carousel in a big old building. It looks good -- the horses are attractive and in good shape and the light show works. But the lack of a band organ was disappointing. They use speakers to play carnival music instead.
