This was a pretty poor coaster... The theming was nice, but the ride flat out sucked except for the final helix
Not too thrilling, except for the end helix, but it is more for families. It has amazing views of the Adirondack Mountains, which makes it worth a ride, and why it has an 8.
This ride was a major dissapointment. I was there the year it opened and there were billboards for it all over the highway so i got excited to just to get extremely dissapointed. Its short, slow and makes annoying sounds. It has an alright theme for a six flags owned park though. Worst mine train i have ever been on by far.
For what this coaster was, I think it did an okay job. A family mine train coaster by Arrow, it does take up quite a bit of space, and apparently it replaced an attraction that was much more liked. Never having been to Great Escape before, though, I couldnt really compare it to its predecessors, which was probably a good thing. The ride looked very nice, with a well-maintained paint job and good Wild West theming. There were two lift hills, which is always a bit tedious, and the ride between the first and second lift was just okay. It dipped and curved a bit, pretty close to ground level. After the second lift, though, there was a reasonably large (both tall and long) downward spiral, which was definitely the high point of the ride. Ive been on better mine train coasters, but I still think this one fit well into a park that caters to more of a family crowd.
This ride is extremely short and boring. If it wasnt for the theming, this ride would have no entertainment value at all. The theming redeems it slightly.
wow. this ride really is boring. its a shame, cuz it had nice theming. the ride falls short, though. the short drop after the first lift hill is kind of slow, and then you right into the 2nd lift hill. that brings you into the big helix. the helix is fun but can get a little shaky. but as soon as your out of the helix, your on the break run. and i couldnt agree more with hercules, this ride is pretty pointless. i think this would bore a 6 year old.
This is the definition of pointless. The ride is just plain dumb. There are two lifthills. Why? The rides doesnt do anything after the first one, then the second larger one takes the train to a pretty good helix, and then the ride is over. More time is spent on the lifts than anything. I cant even say that it was a good addition because of its family value - the entire park is geared towards families, and if they wanted to put in a family coaster, they could have put in something a lot better than this. The real upside for the coaster is the good theming. Other than that, this coaster is completely pointless. I didnt find it rough or anything like that, but it is just pointless. Did I mention pointless?
this ride sucks so bad it gives you a terrible head ache and the trim breaks at the end hurt like hell. they shoul put another arrow multi-looper or a vekoma giant inverted boomerang(yes i know they have regular boomerang but they can keep it too) ANYTHING BUT THAT PIECE OF CRAP arrow pain train!!!!!!!!!!!!
The ride sucks. I WANT THE TORNADO BACK!
This is an ok coaster, the helix is good. Pretty good theming too.
