After much hype about this ride through many people, I was expecting a high speed launch like Hulk at IOA followed by loads of airtime. I got neither. Very dissapointing. The fact that its in the dark makes it unique unless you have been on Disneys other Dark Coaster ... Aerosmith which is ten times better.

I dont know who told you that space mountain was a high speed launch coaster with a lots of airtime. They are just wrong. It is a good classic coaster. I really dont know a indoor steal coaster that has alot of airtime so I think you expected to much.

Why would you think it was a launch coaster. It has been around since the park opened, not to mention how small the building is as opposed to the track for Hulk or RnR.

I had watched the Disneyland Paris commercials (They gave the impression that you shot up a long tube) plus people going on about how good it was. Also, I had never been to the Magic Kingdon before so of course I am going to have assumptions based on this. The size of the building means nothing re. where you can launch. Look at the "Revenge of the Mummy" .. AND it has air time.

I think you were reading up on Disney Paris not WDW. That one is a launch. this is a family ride and its a bit unfare to rate it porely because you though you new the ride before you had a chance to ride it. Either way welcome to the site.

So Paris DOES have a launch! Not unreasonable to think that WDW would have the same then. Anyway, I still wasnt impressed. I guess I should have gone to Magic Kingdom before going on the Hulk & Kraken. I thought the 3D film at MK was the best thing there.

Keep in mind Paris was build nearly 30 years later. you wont see them replacing the family ased space mountian with a launch version. Thrill rides are for MGM and EPCOT. MK is a family place. But I;m glad you found a few things you liked at the park. I have heard many good things about the movie.
