This ride was built nearly a decade ago, and, despite looking brand new from the outside, the ride itself feels like a poorly-built wooden coaster. Although you must give credit to Disney and co-creators FedEx for splashing out on modern and astonishing scenery, the ride could learn a lot from the AWESOME metal-bodied Space Mountain in Disneyland Paris. On my most recent visit, the illusion of space created by the attraction was spoiled for first-time riders, when the ride broke down as we prepared to board. The hologram space shining on the ceiling was de-activated, and parts of the old coaster could be seen from the station. Although a must for your Magic Kingdom, make sure you get a Fastpass, and try not to expect too much from the old thing... P.S. It takes nearly 10 minutes to get out of the dome by escalator, so I suggest you ignore the boring post-ride scenery, and get the hell outta there sharpish.
