It's also my favorite park in the absolute universe. CP is a close second, but nothing come close to the peace, traquility, and Skooters of Knoebels.

I think you guys forgot a major one- Capacity!
Which is why I would never recommend a Six flags park (Except MM). It is also why CF parks are the best!
Anyways... here are my top 5.
1.) Coaster. 2.) Cleanliness 3.) Flats 4.) Capacity 5.) Food
well I guess I have six.
6.) Staff

Mine are:
1. Rides (thrills, theming, and atmosphere of the ride. Ex: if the park is a boardwalk, then you don't need much theming) 2. Theming 3. Atmosphere 4. Length of the line compared to how good the ride is. 5. Cost of tickets, food, etc.

The one that I consider to be the most important is Crowds. Example: A park that has 50 rides and attracts 2,000 people a day (this is just an example, I'm not trying to be accurate) gets a much, much, much, higher rating than a park with 100 rides that attracts 6,000 people a day. I mean, all I really need are a couple roller coasters, and I'm set!

I tend to hit my homepark on weak days and off days, but I don't care about waiting in lines when I go to other parks (though I did hit MM when school was in). I do take advantage of FastPass systems though- it helped to get tons of rides on RRC and ToT at MGM Studios.

actually Marc was going to use these posts as input for a way for us to rate each park not just the rides

I would say same as all for number one. 1. Coasters and other rides 2. Price 3. Landscape/theme 4. Food 5. Reputation. For example, SF Magic Mountain has a great reputation for its coaster but. theme, food, staff and landscape was not all that. SF Great america has a good reputation, theme is a ok, yet coaster are great (not as much as SF Magic Mt.). SF world of adventure had a bad reputation, food price was high but coaster where great and the landscape use was excellent and clean(many disagree).

The five things I look at is...
1. Rides (Thrills, Variety of rides, uniqueness, right themeing, history, etc.) 2. Cleanliness (A must for anything, not just theme parks) 3. Staff (I work at an amusement park, Dollywood, and although we don't get capacities as big as Disney World, I know it's easy to have fun with the guests, and I expect the same in turn when I'm a guest.) 4. Pricing (Although, it shouldn't never make a huge difference, because most of the time, I say it's worth the money) 5. The most important, the park's own magic, it's exactly why Disney is so great, because other parks have more thrilling rides, and better, but Disney produces something that no other park has quite been able to grasp, so they get their own category.

1.Condition and quality of rides and attractions 2.Cleanliness 3.Capacity (ie can the park adequately handle the volume of patrons it receives?) 4.Professional, friendly, and adquate staff 5. Quality and variety of food

1. Employees. They make or break the park. 2. Cleanliness 3. Theming and Atmosphere 4. Balance of Attractions. Parks should have more than just thrill rides. 5. Overall layout. This comes into play with crowd control and efficiency of the attractions.

1. Ride selection 2. Layout/how rides are positioned 3. Landscaping/cleanliness 4. Quality of food, shops, etc. 5. Employee friendliness*
*Reason this is so low, I try not to interact with employees. I don't care what they do, as long as they do their job properly.

I don't think I ever did this, I was just thinking about it when writing my TR:
Attractions: including coasters, flats, water rides and shows Atmosphere: which encompasess the themeing, the staff and the cleanliness Food: covers the quality and value of the food Price: looks at your bang for your buck, including the admission, the merchandise or ride tickets (whichever apply)
Those four usually roll into one to give me my final evaluation, my overall score, which usually is right around the average of the four categories. I can't think of a fifth one that I would add because I include so much into the fairly broad categories.

Great rides-roller coasters, flats,& water rides Great Maintenance-Getting rides off on time to avoid big lines Friendly Employees Landscaping & Theming All around great atmosphere
Parks these days need to start making more one of a kind coasters that don't have to shatter any records. They can just build coasters that'll bring in a wide array of riders & make ride experiences so unique that they won't be able to experience them anywhere else. They need to stop building clones.

I totally agree. I'm sick of clones, and I dislike having many 10 second coasters out there. TTD was fine, since it was original, but now SF has built KK just to break the record. Well, honestly, I don't care. It's only a little taller, so it makes no difference to me. The industry should get back to making original coasters.
My list:
1. Atmosphere (I think that this is extremely important, whether the park is covered in trees like Kennywood and Hershey, or covered in theming like IOA, BGW, and Disney)
2. Attractions (A couple really amazing coasters, water rides, a good variety of flats, kids rides, and preferably a dark ride)
3. Food, Shops, Services
4. Efficient Staff
