since they reprofiled it its a bit lame, the first drop the first turn around is very good, the worst part of the ride is the big helix part, it dosent really need to be there. it just takes up time. the crash into the quarry wall is awesome, probably the best part of the ride is the tunnel part. over all its a solid ride, it gets a 6 for the tunnel bit, and its record holding. otherwise its an average rough wooden coaster.

This ride is an example of poor design. Originally slated to open at 150 feet, the first drop was raised to break records, instead it broke peoples backs. The coaster has been reprofiled since, and now it is more boring than ever. The first drop is okay, but everything after that is a bit lame especially the ultra rough helix that takes about 5 minutes to complete. There is no airtime, the only memorable thing about it is unfortunately, the roughness. I almost lost my wallet on this ride and it was safely in my pocket. That is how much this roller coaster shakes around. The structure on this ride is notorious for swaying back and forth. When I was in the station, it swayed at least a couple of feet each way as a train went by. There is a turn that goes through a tunnel, which is probably the best part of the ride.

The name says it all. This ride is very rough. It is still fun to me, though. I like the part where you go round and round. The tunnel is cool too!

This was a great ride. Back in the day, it was amazing with the 166-foot drop, and the abscence of trim brakes before the helixes. The helixes used to go FAST, but now, its irritatingly slow. But, there is nothing like the second hill...going down it crooked like that...CRAZY! But, the way the lift hill goes up the cliff is awesome as well. But, the queue line sucks, and its always jammed. Average woodie.

This is one of my favorite wooden coasters. It is the only wooden coaster that has the speed to make the first drop really fun. The helix inside of itself was fun. I rode it at night and the final section through the tunnels is great in the dark.

The first drop was great, I wish I could have ridden it when it went all the way to the ground. This ride was very, VERY jerky though. It wouldnt have been so bad for the triple helix. Maybe this part should have been small helixes that just propelled you or pulled Gs, not just helixes with hills. But overall it was a very fun ride, dont ride it if your not in good health and dont like getting tossed around a lot. Plus I wish they had 6 cars instead of 5.

One of the best wooden roller coasters around! Everyone should ride one at least once (before the only ones that exist are the steel ones). Yes, its rough...but think about it! Its called the Rattler! Its wooden! Its big! And its in Texas! It shouldnt be smooth! I agree, though, the older I get, the tougher it is to ride it. I also only go if some out of towner or visitor wants to.
