Review of Yankee Cannonball, The @ Canobie Lake Park
1 Rating Posted by: mrceagle on 8/22/2001 11:54:00 PM
This is the woodie our grandparents loved. Guess what, so can we. The fast moving, airtime-giving coaster can thrill the best of us. If this ride was in a more visited park the rating would be much higher. Only down side is the 1 train operation causes long waits even on a moderately busy day.

I agree that this is a classic wooden coaster many of our generations have experienced. My parents and grandparents have gone on the Yankee Cannonball. I think the Yankee Cannonballs rating would suffer if it were at a bigger more crowded park, because the lines would be longer.

True, I hear so many complaints about wait as it is. Canobie isn;t a small park when it comes to atendance. it rivals SFNEs crowds. Canobie has more capacity within park area though. I agree that in a larger more modern park peopel woudl expect more dispite the coasters age and history.

I rode it last week, and it was retracked, and got new trains. Now the ride is better than ever. Its even better than the Phoenix now!

The back seat is the best seat on the Yankee Cannonball, but Canobie doesnt let you wait for a seat you want. Go on a rainy day, and rides are walk-ons usually. On non-rainy days, this is how long the waits are(Below). For a list of all the rides and when to ride them, go to my "Canobie Lake Park Guide and Tips" in the Message Board, under the Trip Reports and Tips.

Yankee Cannonball- 50min to 60min
Boston Tea Party- 10min to 20min
Policy Pond Log Flume- 40min to 50min
Big Timber Splash Water Coaster- 35min to 60min
Star Blaster- 10min to 15min
Mine of Lost Souls- 35min to 45min
Corkscrew- 10min to 20min
Psycho Drome- 15min to 25min

The adults may still go, so the big rides will still have some long lines. Read my guide and tips, to work around the crowd.
