Review of Flights of Wonder @ Animal Kingdom
-1 Rating Posted by: mrceagle on 3/25/2005 11:36:00 PM
I saw this before the stage was finished. Over all I found the show to be basic and not to apealing. the solection of birds was good. I had just seen it all before. I had seen similare shows brought to my school and though they could have done more. I dont really know why i didnt like it but I didnt go away thinking I wanted to see it again.

I would like to know when you saw this show. Because I saw it when Animal Kingdom was less then a year old and the stage was completed. I would also like to know what you found basic. The fact that Disney is not there to "entertain" rather to educate. If you listen very carefully to the dialogue of the show you will hear that they are trying to show you natural bird behaviors. They are not showing you something that is unnatural for a bird. They do not want to become a circus. By having birds show natural behavior is give the majority of the guest the knowledge to respect the natural gifts of animals. Of course, if you want "thrills" you are not going to like it. Also, what kind of person doesnt like the end of the show with the American Eagle? For most anyone that is an amazing conservation effort, and something that we should all be proud of. But you think it is unappealing? OK!

what does star tours have to do with a live action bird show. FTPC I dont understand what you are talking about. I guess an opinion doesnt matter to you.

Well maybe I am just not into "mall simulators" and happen to enjoy birds. So my opinion and your opinion pretty much mirror themselves. According to your other comments, I can make any type of comment I want, and give any review I want that was the reason they made this site. I also happen to think that this bird show is well.. "above average"

I dont know what FTPC would give this show since he will not post a review on it. Also MRCeagle gives no reason for the 5 rating. All he says is the stage is not finished. So why do you bring up a different ride in this review. Oh I know why because you wont review anything and just pick fights against other people. I dont know were you stand because you wont post your opinion. I know one thing I done talking to FTPC who only has 3 reviews and no ride tracker. Also mrceagle says this show is basic, he doesnt compare it to anything. How do I know what he is comparing it to? It is way to fague.

So figment cant give Star Tours a five but it is ok for other attractions to receive a five. You have not even been there yet you are making judgements on others opinions. This Star Tours fascination is beyond me and I got an entire room in my house dedicated to Star Wars but the tours is about as good as a droids and ewok cartoon marathon.

WTF does posting in some of our useless message boards have to do with his ability to critique rides. The site is called theme park critic not whats your favorite movie critic. If you dont want Taylor to bring up the review comment write some reviews. Also it seems like you have no trouble blasting others reviews but you dont have the stones to put some of your reviews out there for criticism.

It doesnt make my life hard that you dont write reviews. I just find it hard to accept your opinion when you feed off of others. It makes you more creditable when you actaully review rides. I think that is all I was saying. Glad to see you reviewed some!

Ok, for starters I updated the review addid some informationand uped the rating to a 7. I wont go any Higher. I dont even remember seeign an Eagle in the show. When did I see it many asked First eyar it opened late july early August. in fact the ticket machins didnt even work that day. and the park was only a shell of what it is now. I have seen similare shows at other much smaller parks that has prity much the same content and like I said in my updated review I have even seen a similare show at my school.

So at your school there must of been a stage with the birds coming in and out. I find that hard to believe. I would like to know what school you go to see something like that. Why do you think the never change bird stages. Because they are trained on that stage and surroundings. To travel with alot of birds is hard to believe.

No actually it was in an old Gym at Richmond Acadimy Agusta, GA. and they did have the birds Flying they Flew From one handler to the other. as aposed to set points on a stage. When I was in elementry school on Hanscome AFB they had a similare show come in. they aslo had a group from the Boston Aquarium come in with a sea creatuse peting zoo. The Thunderbirds team stoped by every year of the air show and taked to the students. They did many things of that sort.

So a traveling bird show is just as good, as disney?

No, just as apealing. A show case of birds and the basics of them. I dont know I personaly found most of the shows at AK a bit dull. maybe they just werent in the swing of things yet and still hadnt goten into there ruteans. Thing is Ive just seen better animal shows. Theonly show at AK I really injoyed was the Jungle Book show with Tramolins and Swings.
